Since I play SCCT for like 6-7 months, I never quite understood why it was so unpopular. I tried to play it with my friends and it was quite enjoyable, I just don't get it why the public hates it so much :/
Anyone care to explain?
I don't like picking up the disk fairy's mess so spy was ruined for me, but if someone else wants to pick it up then why should I stop them? (merc felt pointless)
Motivation.
Its much like death match in the sense that maps aren't designed for it. Also you can't grief disk hunt servers so why play the mode?
To be perfectly honest, it is not necessarily a DM, since Disk Hunt really sucks on DM maps. Maps like Aquarius are really perfect for that mode, you can be stealthy and it really forces you go into stealth since it's hard to ambush a merc.
But I think Project Stealth might just might make it good if a community would try putting effort to it.
I am saying that because if you can get 4 people onto somesort of a chat room and talk via the microphone with them, it can be really enjoyable.
Ofcourse I do not want it to be available at the start of PS since they are ofcourse barely have time to even complete the story mode and etc.
Thanks for the replies ;)
I think a problem was that the disks were (seemingly) randomly strewn across the floor. Maybe I didn't play it enough to learn the positions but I didn't feel like a scavenger hunt mode was worth it to even learn, especially when I could be playing story mode.
I think a better modification would be to make multiple disk pickups. Think story mode but instead of having only 1 or 2 disk pickups, there would be several smartly placed pickups around the map. It didn't feel like you were stealing anything from the map since the disks were all on the floor like no one cared about them. To make the disks feel important they should be inside computers when you find them.

I mean that the maps are designed for story mode. They do not facilitate disk hunt as well as it could.
Disk hunt was a good fooling around game while waiting for 4 people. The problem is when people filter servers for story they don't see your disk hunt game.
I really liked the way Farley4Fan is thinking, that the Disks are scattered on floors and crap and noone gives a damn about them, I guess that created the bad atmosphere for playing it.
I also think there should be a drop off to it or something, because people really tend to be absolutely ghosts in some maps and you can never manage to kill the evading spy.
i think two problems are the main cause of disk hunt's failure:
- it's too hard to stop a spy from running away
- the maps were optimized for story mode

Was that a Kiss ass quote or you were too bored and you needed attention so you just posted something for the sake of it?
No, Agent gets plenty of attention at the retirement home I believe.
