Title: SCCT - Framerate Constant Loss
Post by: DreadStunLock on August 02, 2010, 07:29:58 PM
Hi, the reason I am making a post on this is because Ubi Legacy [PC] Forums are dead.

I am for some reason experiencing constant FPS loss on every map I play, it never used to happen I use 3D Analyzer for a Torchlight Fix, but that was also used now 3-4 months since I started, never had such problems, the FPS just drops for literally 10 seconds, and then it's back to smooth, I play on low settings as always for the best performance.

Any ideas?

Background programs like AV or instant messaging? Dropbox synchronization?

Be sure to play with only 1 core, 2 or more makes the game act that way.

Start the game, open task manager and set Affinity of the process to one Core.

An alternate way would be to flag the game executable as "1 core only" using this command-line tool: http://www.robpol86.com/index.php/ImageCFG

Dropbox Synchronization?

It could be...just might be because of Skype? But also probably because I have MSN messenger on for e-mail notifications?

Xfire does not seem to be part of it since I used it alot and the problem never happened.

I will try the Core parts, but I am sure that the Messengers fault, Since I always had like uhmmm all cores or default cores active from the start of the installation and the playing of the game.

Also the Website LennardF1989 sent me doesn't bloody work, I extracted it and I double click it and it dissapears straight away, I had to click it like millions of times to see what the bloody hell was on it.

Did you actually parse it any arguments?

Be sure your harddrive is defragmented and you have no viruses. For viruses you can check with malwarebytes and for defrag use program defraggler. This should make your Frame Loss smaller and overall PC working faster.

Strange, I defragmented my System, it only took 12 minutes, because I have AShampo Defragmenter which Defragments part of my system when I am afk.

Also I didn't really understand Lennards post about Dual Core and Core switching because I really want to try that. It's weird the FPS lag just happens :/

You fail, his CPU was overheating ;) We checked it yesterday and he know how to switch for one core but it's so stoopid to change it every game run and lennard's program don't work with scct.   :)

You suck the same as he do in SCCT, :-*

Stop be an asshole for everyone... Agent.

Download SpeedFan, RealTemp, OCCT or something else what can check temperatures he has 98-100*C in stress. It should be under 70 or 60*C.

Indeed overheating didn't come to mind, though, the program I gave you actually REALLY works, as long as you follow the instructions.

I always had to set affinity before I could Versus to run right, which was annoying as fuck as ALT+Tab doesn't work when the game is lagging, until I flagged it to run on my first core only.

You should see K?'s reaction when he told me to install 3 different temperature checkers of my laptop...

K?: WHAT THE FAK!? 100C?! OMAGAD!

If you go to default.ini and you change line "UseAlternateTimer=False" to True then it's just useless ;)
