I've made once a thread about thief series and the fan work. Not many people seemed to be interested in all of that. Well then I really want to offer you just one of the titles I included in that earlier thread. "The Dark Mod" is a full conversion mode of doom 3 that changes it into a stealth, moody game where you become a thief in medieval times mixed with magic(not much but a little). It's inspired by thief series if anyone can recall playing some of those.
When I first found out about it I was ehm... Not sure if that is goin to come up to my expectations. The thing that was letting me down was the fact that it's aiming at single player. However after playing a few missions I found it very enjoyable and thrilling! The gameplay is very flexible because of whole equipment available during the missions:
- water arrows to put out lights
- rope arrows
- fire arrows
- gas arrows
- moss arrows
- broadhead arrows
- noisemakers
- flash bombs
- lunet
- compass
- lockpicks
- breath potion
- health potion
- blackjack
- short sword
- holly water for zombies
There two difficulties in game or three:
- omitting guards
- zombies,spiders and other horrible creatures
- climbing
I personally love the most the last one. Climbing in this game is really satisfying espescially with rope arrows. Some of the plots in missions are very exciting. For a long time i was looking for a game with good plot. Well I found a great mission that has thrilling plot it's truely epic! The name of it is "Heart of Lone Salvation". If you are willing to try it, then go the www.thedarkmod.com and in download section you'll find out what to do. Good mission to start from after finishing the training mission is "Tears of saint Lucia". After that you can try the Heart of lone salvation. I guarantee you won't get disappointed.

I loved Thief 2: The Metal Age when I was younger, but it was kinda hard for me to fully understand the story. Thief brought be to Splinter Cell. And SC led me to PS.
If you loved thief 2 then you definetly should try this one. Splinter cell is different it's... Well less serious I'd say. The atmosphere in thief is creepy and thrilling. Dark mod managed to bring this atmosphere into gameplay.
I don't have Doom 3, but I might try it out via Steam when I have a bit more time.

I didn't have it too in first place but it took me one beatiful night to "get it"... Before someone starts "barking" at me what a bastard I am pls notice that I never played doom3, just the dark mod and it is free so I feel morally good.
Doom 3 itself is an awesome game, not really scary, but creepy. Playing it in COOP-mode is teh best! Having a scare with friends is cool.
