Hi, I was wondering, since UDK and SCCT editors are really not the nicest thing to look at for new commers, is it possible to make them more user friendly?
What I mean is, if you look at Halo Reach: Forge editor, you notice that they are simple and really easy to make a decent map, If you compare it to UDK, you have to do alot of subtraction and numeracy stuff, but is it possible to make it more click and drag? Think also about Google Sketchup, you click and drag objects and etc.
A lot of players sometimes want to make their own maps, but the draw back is that UDK is really not the best for newcommers.
So is there a posibility to make a simple editor for newcommers and make UDK as advanced one?
No.
Plenty of tutorials for UDK.
Forge is not an editor. It just changes some minor things in a really user-friendly way. You can create simple boxes and so on to block off predefined paths, but that's basically the limit.
Learn to use it so good and it will be friendly for you.
Wow! Easy does it :)
Comparing UDK to The Halo Forge Editor is like comparing the Sistine Chapel to a children's coloring book.

hear hear.
Contrary to popular belief, making maps takes effort. This is one of the main reasons why there are people paid specifically for this task.
Damn I actually forgot about that :(

;D
Too bad there is so little space for such jobs in real life, and usually they will always want multi-taskers :(
If you really wanna get into UDK I will recommend you to visit 3dbuzz' web site. They have a lot of free VTMs in there. When you get used to the UnrealED you will see that its more powerful then most user friendly click and drag editors :)
Eat3D has some of the best in-depth info on UDK imo.
Seems great will have a look!
