Heya, just want someone nice enough to explain what is the difference between the pixels that allow you to get a better quality video on youtube and the cameras megapixels.
I read something on wiki that 1080p on YouTube is for resolutions from 19xx by 1080 or something, but where did the 1900 come from?
Do they have any relations at all other that they are pixels?
And how much megapixels can a PC Monitor have? Or is that a completely different thing?
1920 x 1080 is full HD video.
Say, if a pixel wan an inch, then your video would be 1080 inches high.
The "1920" is how many pixels across.
The 'p' as in '720p' just mean progressive, as appose to interlaced, which is indicated by an 'i' like "1080i"
Different resolutions are depicted by how many pixels high, so:
"1080p" is "1920 by 1080 progressive" (Full HD)
"720p" is "1280 by 720 progressive" (Standard HD)
A "megapixel" is simply one million pixels.
So "1080p" is like 2 megapixel.

Also how did you calculate that 1080 = almost 2 megapixels?
