Title: New Kid on the Block
Post by: BearInATie on December 12, 2011, 05:13:02 AM
Hey everybody,
Thought I would post and introduce myself; I'm BearInATie, and it looks like I'm the new Trial Dev-team member. I'm 19, an American, and studying for a master's in computer science. I'm new to UDK, but hopefully that won't stop me. AMA I guess :)

Welcome to the ghost town formerly known as the Project Stealth Forum.

What is a trial dev team member?  Not being a dick just curious :P

Venomousninja is owning lately...
Well anyway. Welcome to the forum, I'm glad there is another person to help with programming. Hope your enthusiasm and fresh blood will motivate the rest to make things more efficient and the thing will roll faster. Good luck.

PS: yes, most of the members here now turned into trolls, it was caused by stress and desperatness(/desperacy?), which comes from the fact of not being happy because of not having what they'd like to have, because it's still in progress and not out!

(I think, I lost the meaning of this sentence...)

haha I'm pretty sure the entire internet is a haven for trolls; somehow online anonymity is a free license to be a douche

No worries, Farley :) It means that if I do a good job I'll be a full-time development team member (hopefully)

Pusianka- no pressure or anything haha :P Well, if it means anything, they just partially brought me on board, so at least they're looking for new people, right?

I've been consistantly at a house with no internets for the past like... 2 months.

Now that my pointless backstory is out of the way.. Welcome to the team/forum/community/troll farm! I read the rest of this topic and like farley, I am instantly impressed with the use of pictures as a response. You might be the best thing to happen to this forum since that time agent and dread got banned for a while (I'm sure you'll figure out about them).

Okay, now that my lips are securely planted on your ass, we can now be friends. You best impress these guys with your skills because I don't think my weak heart can take you abandoning me after painstaking typing out this response on my phone.

Did I mention my phone doesn't easily do commas? Yeah, that's how excited I am. :)
Title: Re: New Kid on the Block
Post by: BearInATie on December 13, 2011, 06:47:08 PM
was your pointless back story done at the last minute and at great expense, and therefore pointless, (like the credits of Monty Python and the Holy Grail)?

:D Well, to all the trolls; (all 3 of them?):

But I feel like there's an epic story here that's not being told; how did time agent and dread get banned? ...and can we do this like the intro-story to Aladin? Or Dr. Horrible style? Either would be acceptable.

Lips, ass; check. :P Haha I'm here to stay, I don't want any dexterity skills to go to waste. As long as Frvge and Lennard keep giving me jobs, I'll keep turning things around as best I can :D

3 commas?! Did we just become best friends?

If you're playing along, there are 5 allusions to movies above, 4 are obvious and one's hidden, super secret prize to anybody who finds them all.

If I was mean I would make that last line my signature *maniacal laugh*

1.) Yes.

2.) Oh, they will hate.

3.) I dub.. No, TRIPLE dog dare you to click on near any other topic in this forum and I swear there will be a 90% chance of Agent and Dread having a "conversation" that is aside from the actual point of the thread. From what I've seen though it seems like Agent hasn't posted MUCH in the last few months, but he has made up for that by being overly dramatic with what he does post. Not in that "I just watched Batman, now I have to use a line from it to vaguely make my point"-way, but in a "Shut up and start working before I e-cast you all to the pits of hell" kind of deal.

(I haven't watched Aladdin or Dr. Horrible in a loooong while. Closest thing I've got under my recent belt is The Muppet Movie and Hercules. I'm not Jason Segal, and I'm too white to make a funky-diva-gospel style intro for either)

3a.) Sidenote: I'm quite surprised at how well VenomousNinja and Meister_Neo have taken over their roles. It's definitely a different way about it, not really worse, but I'm glad the forum hasn't lost that special quality that we've always (since I've been here) had.

4.) 3 commas is pretty good. You are definitely high on my list. I wont say where, as to not hurt anyone's feelings, but know that it's #1. (You all can suck it)

5.) I'm Cronky/Adam/Not-voted Community Moderator. I'm also that sexy guy giving the eye in my profile picture and more clearly shown in the most recent public discussion topic standing non-shopped, totes legit, next to Dread.

...That last one didn't have a point towards your post, but I also am terrible with allusions.

3- Really? They were that bad? *looks around on the forums* huh... that was kind of the best way to describe it. Meh, beggars can't be choosers... Muppet Movie was awesome, a little sad though :(

Hahahaha Number 1?! U S A! U S A! U S A! :P

Nice to meet you Conky/Adam/Non-voted Community Moderator, I'll call you Cronky for short. XP Whoa. Uber intense eye; can't show that in public, may be illegal in some places.

Then I will do what I can to tell teh tale...

You see, thousands and millions of years ago, in the future, there lived an ancient race of salamander people called Dreadmanders.  They were a generally happy people with good intentions, but had a longstanding rivalry with the Agentferrets due to a disagreement over how the cookie dough mines should be divided.

War was declared.

The battle was surprisingly short.  The days became the weeks, the weeks became the months, and the months became the centuries before a victor was decided.  The Agentferrets, with their superior wooden weapons, beat the paper-mache armor wearing Dreadmanders into submission and, eventually, slavery.

The Agentferrets, with their newly-found salamander people power, built a vast empire of cookie dough buildings and cookie dough dinners.  But alas, it was at the expense of a race of salamander people.  Such a proud race would not be suppressed forever.

One day the smallest salamander man of them all found an amulet that foretold of a way to actually COOK cookie dough, rendering their entire empire into a bunch of useless cookies.  His name was DreadStunLock.

AgentX_003, the squire of the emperor of the Agentferrets, learned of this discovery and quickly told his superiors.  He would try his best to ensure of no nonsense, no uprising, no "cookies".

But despite his best efforts, the Dreadmanders started a revolution of freedom and used the amulet to methodically cook the cookie dough empire of the Agentferrets.  During the attempt to cook the last fortress of the Agentferrets, DreadStunlock and AgentX_003 met on the battlefield.  Their clash was so great, their blows so furious, that it resulted in the death and ultimate destruction of each race of people.  The amulet was destroyed.

And so they have come to the past to find the Great Cookie Amulet and turn the tide of the future for their own people.  What you see now is just a budding rivalry, the time travel has made them forget how intense their hatred really was... Or will be...

My favorite part was Rowlf's story of how he got with the group....

-----------------------------------------

Rowlf: Why didn't you guys show my part? I thought it was pretty interesting.

*switch to a scene showing Rowlf sleeping in a hammock*

Kermit: Hey. We're getting the gang back together. You want to come?

Rowlf: ...Sure

*Switch back to the car with Rowlf having the biggest smile on his face*

-----------------------------------------

That get's me EVERY TIME. I also didn't watch the Muppets as a Kid (Sesame street FO LIFE!), but that movie was well done. Didn't know Kermit was kind of a downer.

I also forgot to mention that Farley is my #0. He knew that, but I felt it dishonest to make you think you were at the top of the food chain. He and I are like conjoined twins that were separated at birth because we had different mothers.

...and born in different years. I don't think either of those really matter though.

That was a solid story ...so we're commemorating their epic battle with an Easter Egg, right? :P

Bwahahahaha that part may have been the greatest few lines in the movie. "Sesame street fo Life"? Can I get that on a T-shirt? :D DAMN! I should have known; indexing of friends begins at 0... touche, your internets has bested mine :P That... that made no sense... this is normally where I say "FUCK IT, WE'LL DO IT LIVE" but I feel like that would be stepping on Farley's turf...

What I've seen from you recently has been equal parts awesome community driven awesome and jumping on the troll agent wagon. I didn't mean anything bad by what I said (I'd rather you saying actual funny things than Agent and Dread banter), but it's just what I've seen as of... the past few months.

You've done well riding that fine line.

Haha alright, Frvge got me good; he changed it so that everybody's screen name showed up as "NotBearInATie" for Farley, him and I, he also changed it so that clicking on someone's new screen name linked you to a rick roll :P
