Title: Some ideas.
Post by: tigaer on July 05, 2007, 06:39:24 PM
Here's some ideas, thought they might be cool.

Spy.

Wi-Fi Hacking,
You take this instead of a SS, and mostly like DA you get to hack from a distance, but slower depending on your range, you get a limited view while hacking (can only turn you head, cant look behind you.) and you cant launch grenades/sticky cams, only drop your grenades. Launchables gadgets (alarm snare, spy bullet, stick cam.) will be locked if you dont have a SS. It can also deactivate passive defenses, like the SS, even lights if you guys are including shooting out most lights in this.

Echoer,
Basically, since you cant have alarm snares when you have a Wi-Fi hack, you can get an echoer, which is basically like the jammer on DA, but it pings the mercs (like an alarm snare.) when they get close to it. Lasts 1 minute.

Radar,
Excactly like the echoer except its a radar (spy bullet.) that you drop. But lasts for 1 minute.

Merc.

Wi-Fi Jammer,
Place it on the terminal and the spy has to either shoot it with a SS, chaff it or go up to it and remove it like they would a mine. But, remember the Wi-Fi hacking spy doesnt have a SS so it will require teamwork if they dont want to go up close to the terminal.

Incendiary Grenade,
Like a frag, but makes a cloud of deadly thermate. Burns for 15 seconds.

Rappel,
Rappel off rails, like DA.

Weapon depot,
In the mercs spawn, lets them swap weapons, not gadgets.

And i say no to Wi-Fi hacking.

I say yes to wifi hacking.  Just not hacking the terminals from DA, more like hacking into the ND133's from far away.  I say no to rappeling, there aren't any ledges high enough in CT that would even need to be rappelled down anyways.

I slightly agree with you kok4fan but there is nothing to discuss about cloning an already made game.  The things to discuss should be new features.

If we do expand the gameplay someday, can't we just have an objective type (like computers, bombing and disk) that allows remote hacking?

Took the words right out of my mouth.  Exactly what I meant but I don't think that I worded it right...

Make it a separate game mode.

yap.
btw, there was a device called "modem" in pt that you could place in a certrain distance to the objective and the merc had to remove it within a time window. this got replaced by the bomb type objective. if i remember right, you had to reload at ammunition stations, and it was more interesting for the merc since the device could be hidden anywhere.

Yeah, and it resumed hacking from the point it finished last.
