I believe we should stay thinking of a PC version at first, lol.
just for the sake of the record....we intend the game to look entirely different with our graphics, engine, etc etc.
It cannot be a true clone because of copyright issues. I think everyone on the dev team should be stressing this subtle but important differance so we do not get into problems with UBI.
But we will have spys creeping in vents, breaking necks, sticky cams, and mines and the whole lot.
I just read that Unreal Tournament 3 will not be part of Games for Windows Live. This means the 360 and the PC will not be connected. However, it's still undeterimed wether the PS3 and the game will be able to run the mods. This is what was said at E3. Then again, a lot was said at E3.
PS3? What for? This is intended for PC (at least it was).
The only console it could come out for is 360. It would be too hard to implement live onto a ps3...
Woah, since when is PS being developed for consoles? I missed that part.

Consoles will only happen if the game get's taken on by Microsoft or another large company. There shouldn't be too many copyright issues because Ubi has essentially abandoned the SvM concept.

Yea and we'll be in the next E3 as the best game of the year...
What are the chances? 0,00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000

What are the chances of getting it in a console right now?
0,00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000

And why bother with a console version for christ sake..
Wow, easy there :p
haha.
First of all, Games for Windows Live has, just like Xbox Live, 2 options: Silver and Gold.
Silver has Achievements and downloads. Gold is for the connection between Xbox and PC.
There's a whole article about it in my gaming mag, but I lend it out. :p
Games for Windows Live will feature Xfire-like things too.
Silver is supposed to be free, and Gold is the price of Xbox Live: 59.99 a year or 6.99 a month. (dollars I believe)
There is also a huge debate on wether PC gamers should get gold membership for free because they are accustomed to free services.
That would doubtless make console gamers quite jealous, but I just dont see a PC gamer paying money to compete against 360 gamers. Xbox Live does not give anything to the PC platform that they dont already get for free.
true words
This whole console thing came to life thanks to E3. Here's how PS 'could have' been on the consoles.
UT3 is showing up on PC and Xbo360. Thanks to Games for windows Live, Pc users and 360 users would be able to play against eachother. Microsoft @ E3 claimed that UT3 would be powered with GWL and said that the 360 would even support any mods that the game offered. That would mean that PS, which is a mod of UT3 could then possibly played on 360.
A couple days later, Epic makers of UT3, announced that it isn't supporting Games for Windows Live. Which means that PC and 360 users can't compete against eachother and thus, PS a mod for UT3, would not be accessible for 360 users.
Sony Playstation is claiming the same thing as Microsoft with UT3. However, Epic, has yet to deny or confirm this report. IF it is confirmed, PS could end up being played as a mod on PS3 of UT3.

Its been confirmed that UT3 will have some of the mods made for the PC version ported to the PS3. Also, the Xbox360 won't get UT3 until next year...
Thats what Iseveralot meant. If we make the MOD good, epic will port it to the ps3 and later the 360.

I don't think this is what they meant. They mean that mods will magically be playable on consoles verisons with no code modification for it.

I can take a coin out of vaginas. Wanna see?
go ahead
Dudes i really believe an Offtopic topic would help - or you can move to SCL instead.
That's actually a good post.
Yeh i know.
As some have already pointed out, the PS3 will allow for the porting of PC MODs to the PS3. It simply requires the new content to be "cooked". At this time they are saying you have to use a memory stick to port it over to the PS3. What they really mean is that by the time it comes out, you can probably upload it to the Playstation network from your PC, and download it on the PS3. Or, maybe even use your own server to host it, idk.
The Xbox 360 version is not coming out until sometime next year, because of a time exclusive contract. however, I have no doubt that they will offer similar (if not better) features for UT3 when it does make it to the 360.
