These Ideas are taken from DA (which I don't like) but it had some good features in it.
copy out this list below with a + if you want to keep it or a - if you don't. If you'd like it but with changed + it but then go into detail about what you'd like changed ;)

I like the humiliation move idea but the head butt thing was just stupid. What about walking up, picking up the down spy, the taking your gun and slamming the stock of it to his head. Lol, kind of violent. I like my merc like that.
Proxy Radar - No
Torch Sizes - Sure
Merc Sprint - No
Spy Pole Climb - Why not?
Spy Escape Moves - Possibly, they were interesting.
Spy Overs Athleticism - What does this mean? Spy overly athletic? If you're referring to how the DA spies are on crack, then I say just to keep our spies the same as CT.
Long Distance Hacking - I've never been into this.
Arm hacker for enviromental interactions - Same thing as above
Headbut humiliation move - CT humiliation move is 10x cooler.
Just adding a suggestion that when the spys are shot could we add a trail of drops of blood.
That drops for a few feet or will it be another bloodless game. ;)

Ohhh, green blood, like in Predator.
Oh yah,
No on everything except the Merc torch and spy pole climbing. Maybe a couple new escape maneuvers like diving out a window.
Then it is agreed green blood for spys and honey glazzed hams for the mercs. :-*
Jk about green blood ofc it will be red. ;)

I'd rather prefer acid that burns everything around (like in Alien)
No, seriously I like the idea to destroy environmental elements fast and that could be done using arm disabler.
I'd also like to point out adding two speeds while pole climbing would be a good idea too. That way, if needed climbing a pole won't set off MT.
Only thing that I feel would really add anything to the game would be the adjustable flashlight.
The flashlight should be the only one in my opinion.
slow climb should be implemented. but what does it have to do with scda??
About all I can really see keeping are maybe the variable flashlight as a gadget, and I think as far as escape moves, I'd only keep one, the move where you dive out a window.
I would love the jump up into the ceiling move in PS. It was useful and pretty damn slick and spylike. Another one would be sliding over low hanging obstacles. ALso diving through glass and over obstacles. Pretty much all of them I think...
i don't like variable flashlight because spies need to know the safety range and you could always use the spotlight mode and sway quickly in all directions anyways. maybe it would be balanced with eye adaption so that if it's bright in front of you, you see worse in the dark.
do we plan on implementing the iris adaption from ct? the effect was so little and slow that someone had to pointen it out to me so that i perceived it XD
there's also the underused laser...
i have no problems with some fancy escape moves if they are way slower than in scda. the speed was just ridiculous...

Yeah, right now the laser is sorta like the targetted spotlight in DA. Which is kinda why I suggested maybe a gadget that lets you vary the length of your flashlight, so not everyone has it, but people can take it if they want and it acts much like an upgraded laser.
Taking up a valuable merc gadget slot, I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be overpowered. I mean, I'd rather my foes have variable length flashlights than mines or frags.
Laser is a very useful tool, which I have used a lot and would like it to be kept.

+1
Random off-track thought: there are two distinct quirks between euro and na players:
-Euro players love 3rd party chat programs for a game that has a perfectly clear and functional VOIP. I will never understand why.
-NA players use the laser a lot more than Euro players. I even had Valserp ask me why we [americans] use it so much. I just find it easier to keep track of the spy through smoke, while emf ghosting, and through being blinded by flashbangs.
Oh, and the flashlight would be used a lot more if you could snipe with it like in the Xbox version of CT and all versions of PT + no MT NV seeing stationary spies.

I like the laser, the only issues I have with it are that it hides the SD and reticule. I really don't think it should do that in the new version. The laser just isn't powerful enough to warrant taking away merc features.
Also did you know that if you hold the laser on someone for liek 10 seconds it spytraps him?

No way, thats liek hax? And laser IS fine as it is.
EDIT: It is totally useless feature. If you have enough time to hold laser on spy then you probably can kill him as easily.

Yeah it is useless, about the only time I end up using it really is when I get a total newb on polar base who sits on top and I get to laser him through camnet. I was just mentioning that because most people don't know that about the laser. It's just a cool hidden feature that is absolutely useless in normal games.
As far as improving the laser, do you think it'd be a big deal if we let the reticule and SD stay on screen while using the laser? Does anyone experienced with the laser know if that would be broken? Offhand it doesn't seem too bad since you can just switch the laser off to see your SD (since the sound still gets recorded you just don't see it), and there are a variety of third party hacks people use to put up a red dot where the crosshair would normally be. So I don't see it as a very big dealt o just normalize the laser.
The big disadvantage of the laser should just be that you can't use it with the flashlight.

Umm, I hope to God that was a joke.
It should spy trap him in like 5 seconds or so.
ct's laser and flashlight are just fine (except while sniping).
the reason why i'm preferring teamspeak over ingame voip is being able to speak while in server browser, in loading screens, or with more people than my mate. it also got an adjustable volume barrier for people that don't like using press to talk. at least the ingame voip is working for me now, i got problems with my old mic and soundcard for some unknown reason.
papa skull, your comment just shows one more time that you need to spend some time on the pc version. i can't see why you mind doing this as you'll have to get used to pc controls for ps anyways...
No need to be rude.... :-*
The laser is fine hiding the sound detector and recticle. It doesn't actually make that much of a difference since you still 'hear' the recticle pinging so you just turn it off and wait for the spy to make a noise.

Yes, it'd make a big difference. By using the laser, you sacrifice audio awareness for visual awareness. As a matter of fact, they need to take away the fact that you can still hear the reticle ping while the laser is on (in which case you can switch back and catch the back end of the sound reticle going off).

I dont' know. I mean, I find that the laser just isn't that good to justify that sort of nerf. I mean I could see removing the reticule for CT MT, that would make perfect sense, since MT is uber. The laser just isn't that effective to warrant that treatment.
And right now people can pretty much already hear with the laser on, you've just got to switch it off fast enough once you hear the ping sound. Basically I'd say just make it less of a pain to use, because it's really nothing to write home about.

So because YOU don't even use a piece of equipment means that it can't be adjusted?
It seems likely that Ubisoft intended that the laser makes you sacrifice the sound reticle. However, due to shitty programming it does not. You can still hear the "beep," and if you switch back quickly enough the ping will still be there. That's bullshit.
Put it this way: let's say a spy is hiding in a dark room. He can search with the flashlight, but that has a short max range and cannot be used with specialty visions. The laser has no max range and can be used with MT/EMF to overcome their shortcomings. According to you, the merc deserves to be able to hear the reticle on top of that.
A tool that will light up spies in a nice red box instantaneously from any range, in any vision mode, in any lighting, and through any gadgets is pretty damn handy. I suggest you try incorporating it into your game more often before saying it doesn't deserve to sacrifice the sound reticle.

As far as I can gather, we all pretty much agree on this.

Honestly I do use the laser sometimes and it's seriously nothing to write home about as I've said. I mean, it's decent, dont' get me wrong, but it's harder to aim with the laser out (since the reticule is more accurate), and you lose the sound detector and have to keep flicking the laser on and off, making it a real pain to use. If you lost the SD entirely, I know i"d never use the laser. About the only reason I do use it sometimes now is because I don't lose much by using it, it's just a chore to use it since I have to constantly switch it off whenever I hear a ping.
I'm thinking maybe we should just keep the reticule and SD for the laser but not let people use it in MT or other visions. I dunno. Perhaps I've just never seen an expert laser user, but as I've said, it's never impressed me, either fighting against the laser or using it myself.
That's your preference. I, and many others, use the laser a lot. Mr.Mic calls laser + host uzi a "tractor beam," and I tend to agree.
From a coneceptual game design standpoint, you need to have tradeoffs for advantages. I detailed the advantages above; you argue that the one disadvantage it is supposed to have (no reticle) should be worked into the ability. That's just stupid.
Keeping the reticle but disabling its use in EMF/MT would negate its usefulness much more than sacrificing the sound reticle, since one of the laser's best uses is in EMF mode for keeping track of spies after they shut their vision off.
The bottom line is that you've had 3 people here tell you that they find the laser useful, and I know of many more that use it as well. If you find it mediocre, then stick to the reticle. All I ask for is that the apparent intended disadvantage -- disabling the sound reticle -- be implemented correctly.
affirmative.
Maybe I just don't have enough experience with the laser. I admit I don't really use it much, so my experience with using it against good players is limited. So I'll take your word for it, that it is that good to warrant reticule/SD disabling.
