Some of you might know me, but I've made loads of Splintercell Videos (for various players, and online gaming teams) collectively they have over 2000 views.
I'm now working with a production company called 'Warrior Public', and my videos have almost 15,000 views, I would love to make a video for 'Project Stealth' (I'm guessing using test footage? Something like this would be brilliant for uploading directly onto this site, or alternatively making available for download.
I havn't made anything for SC in about 6 months, and as I've been studying Media Production at uni for those 6 months they should be considerably better than my past productions.
Hit me back if you want me.
Cheers.
PS. I love what you guys are doing.
Sounds ok, but we'll need some raw video footage first :D
I expect a ton of people in the community that will be wanting to make videos once we release a beta.
Yeah I don't doubt that. When will that be?
Perhaps you should hold a competition deciding on which video could be used to promote Project Stealth?
The above would be a good idea, you can see my new videos HERE (http://www.youtube.com/justanotheraccount).
These are GTA videos ofcourse but as you can see im getting better at editing recently, compared to my old shitty WMM edits, I now use Sony Vegas :p.
I'd always be up for taking part in a video competition.
Vegas is wack. After Effects + Final Cut + Premiere + Photoshop is what I use
Its not about what you use, its about your skills. You can make a masterpiece video in windows movie maker.
Yes kronf, I've made a good video only using WMM, with only their shitty effects and editor.
I am a firm believer in the skill being in the editor and not the programme, but a masterpiece from WMM?
I doubt that, it just doesnââ,¬â,,¢t have the physical capacity.
Anyway, more to the point, what is Project Stealths opinion on this idea?
Ehrm..
WMP will only allow you to put the clips togheter, maybe add some shitty standard effects and there you go.
Sure you can past togheter alot of clips you have frapped and it looks decent but you will never get me to belive that you are able to make a masterpiece without proper tools for it.
Oh well, promotional videos are a good idea but what i think people would want to see is plain classic ingame footage. (as a preview)
or at least a 1,5min tazer showing basic ingame look, animations etc. Like the one from CT MP
We'll see about releasing raw material.
I think it's best to use the normal methods: wait for official trailers and footage and then edit it yourself.
some days after beta release people will spam trailer vids etc anyways, but it's always nice to have someone professional.
Well if the game has an intro video you'd no doubt want it looking as professional as you can get.
Edit: Got it! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kLNIyj2csEQ
o.o i just time traveled to a time when i was playing sc1 yelling to my friends that SCPT was going to be online! i couldnt sleep!!!
I might have exaggerated a bit about masterpiece, but point still stands. You can make a very good video with basic WMM tools. Using some gay effect from a professional program doesn't make your video good.
QuoteSure you can past together alot of clips you have frapped and it looks decent but you will never get me to belive that you are able to make a masterpiece without proper tools for it.
I was talking generally. I don't have editing skills whatsoever, but I have seen quite a number of above good videos made in WMM.
Videos Sithduke posted does look professional and it is also looks very simple. You surely don't need 10 programs to do that.
i lub WMM
Vegas isn't wack, It lets you do what you want, or what I want easily and for that reason I find it great, plus im gonna learn After Effects soon, that owns so yeah I wanna get using it.
If you are gonna talk about the best editing program, Final Cut Pro or Avid is the best. Sony Vegas is great though too, I can still import After Effects, PSD's, do some advanced techniques so yeah :p.
WMM is fine for making good videos, just most peoples use alot of the worst effects it gives you, the fact is WMM users in general don't know as much about editing and alot of people just looking to upload to YouTube use it for that reason, and you get shitty effect vids and stuff which stereotypes WMM as being crap.
Sithduke is a good example, in terms of appliance WMM is fine, syncing, WMM can do that, you can do lots of things with WMM, only problem is, is that you can't render at high resolutions such as 1280x720, you cant render out HD versions or to codecs like x264 MP4/MKV, and thats there's alot of advanced techniques like colour correction which make other editors WAY better :P.
No you don't need 10 programmes, but each have their strengths, and I play to them.
I still think Vegas is terrible, it's so user unfriendly, and has no where near the versatility of the Adobe series.
Avid, is brilliant, although a tad overkill on what should be simple video done well.
Good luck with AE though.
A good video really only depends on good editing and putting together good clips of good footage with some well timed and good music. Then, the program you use to do it doesn't really matter.
Vegas is actually VERY user friendly in my opinion, it really is easy as hell to use, alright first look puts you straight off, it did for me too.
But then I took like 3 minutes to look at it and it all became obvious, I strongly disagree on your view about how user friendly it is :D. Your right Papa Skull, I can get perfect syncing, smooth framerates, great colours and any other simple things like that with Vegas, ofcourse there are better programs but Vegas is my G-Spot :P.
Yeah can't wait to be using AE, thanks for the motivation :).
