Title: Testing
Post by: Christf on December 03, 2007, 02:22:06 AM
I saw most of the people that want to test the game have fairly good computers. So if you need somebody that has a sucky comp to test the game for any reasons, you can ask me. I just chose tester because I just started doing 3D gfx a few months ago so I'm not good enough and I cant program. So testing is the only thing I could think of doing.

Ok thanks :) We'll let you all know when we have somethnig to test.

We'll probably need slow computers more than fast ones. Fast ones run everything great, slow ones may screw up our code.

Ya that's why I thought of that. If you need some way to contact me or if you want to know my system specs let me know.

I guess that if you can play ut3 without problems you will be also available to play PS. I still dont know tho how much i have to spend for my graphics to get a fluent game.

I cant actually. I can run it but the graphics are horrible and all blurry. If I try to make the gfx better, the game crashes and stuff.

What ARE your specs exactly?

hey, why not show us something you've done in 3d? you might be being modest xD

Well I have more than one comp but the comp I was thinking of has :
AMD Athlon 2600+
1.91Ghz
1GB of Ram
Ati Radeon 9600 series - 256MB

No I wasn't being modest xD but why not show you? Maybe you can give me some advice...
http://www.freewebs.com/christf24/castle_not_textured.jpg  <-Never textured it, I did this with the help of a tutorial in the first few weeks I got 3Ds Max.
http://www.freewebs.com/christf24/vray%20container.jpg  <-Tried Vray renderer for the first time. I was going to make this project way better but while I was saving I turned my external hard drive off so it never finished saving. Which made me change my mind...lol
http://www.freewebs.com/christf24/speaker.jpg <-Another Vray try. I made this to add to my room project I will make if ever I get un-lazy
http://img481.imageshack.us/my.php?image=calypsoisland2de0.jpg <-This is the last thing I did. I tried making a paradise island but I didn't want it to be very realistic. I never finished texturing it (I hate texturing)

Like I told you I'm a newbie to 3D modeling but I hope I'll get better soon.

(if you're willing to model that is)

I'd love to, but I don't think I'm good enough to work with you guys.

Actually, I don't think those specs will work. Both the CPU and GPU will barley run UT3, if at all. PS will be more demanding.

Ok then I guess I'll have to try on one of my other comps.

i think you should try modelling for us, if you're up to it. (i hate texxturing too btw, it's just something that needs to be done :( )

No it won't, what makes you say that? UT3 will be tons more demanding then PS. Still, those specs suck and I would recommend upgrading.

Dude... Texturing  is when the model really starts to come together, how can you not like it!? Now UVs... That's another story... blech.
