hi everybody! every time i see some 3D model in this site, i become more keen on starting some "projects" myself, but i don't know where to start from (dunno which apps to use and have to 3d modeling experience).
please, use this topic to post a list of apps people can use to start modeling (and some tutorials too), and maybe some day some of us might create models for cool games ;D
3d Studio Max
Maya
Lightwave
XSI
I would look into the Maya Learning Edition. I think it even comes with some lessons if I remember correctly.
There's also Cinema4d and Blender.
And the sites that were posted in another thread...

3D PALACE! (http://www.3d-palace.com/)
I like 3Ds Max over Maya. Maya just has weird stuff and 3Ds Max is easier to use.
That's personal taste. The program is just a tool and in the end, what makes the difference is your skills.
Ya, that's why I said I :)
