Im tired of seeing the same threads and nothing new soo im gunna interfere,
ive already talked with some of the the devs about this idea, but just wanna know if you guys think
that a option to show a message that the person has actually disconnected, or left the game
because what gave me this idea was the intervention of doubleagent of being Non-specific
Sure.
Definately. Why not? It's kind of a pain in the ass to try and talk and strategize with someone then you realize that they are gone, and you were talking to yourself.
Also, can we have it so that the player list is on by default?
In CT it was specific to say someone left. Or you could just pop up the stats and see someone left. In DA, it shows you and your mate(s) status.
I don't see why this shouldn't be implemented.
np if the hud stays quite clean.
Agent lawl. Why do you have a TF2 spy? I bet you are as noob at TF2 as you are at SCCT, you arrogant POS. Good idea though :). Stay kewl.
woah, is there some heat between you two already? Just try to keep it off the forum man. Lately we've had enough beef as it is.
I really can't tell if Guggle is being serious or cynical.
mind boggling

Thats not the best way to start.
fine -.- just wanted to add that this guy removed me from his xfire friends list because I beat him at a game of SCCT. So yes, I dislike him :P
Well that's fine then. But please, this forum needs to stay pretty clean because of all the new people we are getting. We don't really want them scared off by the sight of flame wars. I know my history shows I'm not one to talk but I'm changin too. ;D

far from it, i removed you because your annoying and cant stick to one name , smurf everyone and act like a total nuisance when doing so , sorry you feel that way but as far as this forum is concerned people love me here.
by the way, the sig speaks for itself.

Right after people show this good attitude about not flaming you chime in. Always the worst timing Agent.
agent may not be that good and act like a nationalistic moron sometimes, but his smurfing-is-bullshit point feels really important to me. one of the unique things of the small svm community is that things aren't that anonyme, and i'd really love to see the social aspect found in pt days return with ps (correct me if i'm wrong, but it felt more personal to me in the short time i played pt). ingame voip is also a good thing for the social aspect...
Yeah, and he should be able to discuss it and not seem like an asshole about it. Just ignore the people you aren't really in good terms with if they try and lash at you. Imo, that's the best solution.
you know if people want to smurf let them. i dont really see what the big deal is in having many online names. sometimes people just want to be along and game or not talk to anyone or just like having many names.
ontopic: names showing up joining and disconnecting should show - its like the basics for all the games now isnt it?

qft
Yeah, what ever. I'm not gonna offend any opinions, because I want this community to be successful, however, whoever is saying that smurfing is stupid... is probably the people who constantly kick people that are better than them, just because they like winning. That is the only reason I smurf, can't get around any other way. You'll find me on my original name at all times, unless I am in a server where people don't like me :P
Or kick people because they cheat or talk shit. I don't boot people who are better than me, in fact, if they are better than me I'd rather have them in the game. That way, I can learn from their strategies and it's good practice. Whenever I kick people it's because I don't like their attitude or they are glitching/cheating... If someone who is constantly fighting with people or is a cheater, then smurfing becomes a problem for me. ( even though it doesn't happen much on xbox live because it costs money to change names )
You know, if you really wanted to stop smurfing you could make a system like xbox live. Where you make playing the game an actual service. But of course it wouldn't cost as much money. You have a credit card you enter under your name and charge people to change their name. Like, I'd make it a dollar. Just so people wouldn't want to go through all of that trouble just to get a new name.
NOTE that it might be a little too complicated to go in that direction. It might not even be worth it. I'd just say forget it and let it happen. So what. Someone changes their name, they are still the same person. If you don't like playing with them then leave or kick them.
Smurfing is not the problem with ppl you dont want in your server. The problem is it needs to be IP or CDKey bans and not a name ban. Also kick should work everytime not sometimes.
Also if we can do it, if a person is banned X ammount of times they should be added to a global ban list so no one has to deal with them anymore.

I do not hack, and I do not disrespect anybody, other than the people who start me up. Agent kicked me for purely beating him. I tried smurfing on his server, but I ended up getting kicked. So, then, I was a bit vexed with him. He says "I'm annoying" I was just acknowledging how much he feared being beat, and how much he feared unknown people in his server. Besides, is smurfing really an issue here? If you ask me, anti-smurfers just want to gain attention.
Ok, then I agree with you. Smurfing isn't so much of a problem imo. Just find friends who don't frequently change their name and play with them.

it seems to me you have such a selective memory like blackveldt, you only remember what games you yourself won but buddy I know in my mind I've defeated you plenty of times then you have fingers and toes.
Regardless win or loss , my argument about the whole Anti-smurfing , it just makes me sick that people as papa was saying , talk shit and hide behind different names to cover their ass.. weither people realize it or not , gaming is turning into a sport , and with that being said I expect good sportsman ship from all players.
Also im not afraid to loose on this name , hence why i keep playing on it.
@ papa skull, thats like finding a needle in a haystack.
@Fusion slayer , I totally agree with you 100 %
If people get another name they are obviously not going to talk shit anymore so you don't suspect them. So, there is nothing to worry about. Unless they are cheating or glitching, that is the only real problem I can see with smurfing.

Take your own advice.
Well, first, it's easy for you to say all that stuff about smurfing, because you have the unkickable bug, you hypocrite. Second, do you really think you are impacting this discussion with your little "I've defeated you more times than how many fingers and toes you have"? All you are telling me, is that, I shouldn't take you off my friends list when you win, but you should when I win. You reek with hypocrisy.
Anonymity is just a fact of the internet and we have to get used to it.

Ok, if you really are like that, and if you really need a refresh icon installed in your brain. I'm the guy you took off of friends for beating you, now you are trying to convince the people on this forum that is bogus. I'm laughing :D.
And also, you didn't tell me about project stealth, my neighbor did ^_^

You guys both need to stfu. Not because I am on either side of your argument, but because of reasons stated before. I suggest you lock this thread frvge, or any other admin, because this thread will lead nowhere besides a flame war.
Tsk.
Quotesorry i had burst your bubble but it was Bryce who told me about it .
@ 2ndly, who the hell private messages someone to tell them oh i see you blocked me because i beat you and then makes it public ? , this is my prime example of how you are annoying and wont shut up
seriously back off, leave this forum.
1. You can't "shut up" on a forum, as means of communication are not vocal.
2. Telling someone to "shut up" is accepting that you have no more arguements and is a last ditch attempt at avoid the negativity of losing an arguement.
3. Please don't use textspeak. It makes you annoying.
4. English is your friend. Don't butcher it.
5. Please direct your comments at people more clearly. I cannot tell whether you were addressing Guggle, or Gui Brazil because either way it doesn't make sense.\
Now can we get back on topic?
