Great post, M4. I hadn't seen the new proxies, f.e.
Haha, looks better than SvM. At least there are proxy mines!
I would love to see the game in action. I don't think it's my cup of tea though. Instead of being tazered and triple naded, you're going to get tazered and fragged!
ai... that doesnt sound that good XD;)
Hang on... let me get this right... im not getting SvS, i thought it was team of spies vs another team of spies?
If Its Third Echelon vs Upsillon... then Upsillon have Spies in thier organisation eh ??? sound rather gay tbh.
Or is it every spy for himself vs Upsillon Merc BOTS?
confusion...
i dont get it either... i didnt see the whole movie but i never saw a other player; no merc or a spy
Umm who was he verseing ? lol I seen no one :P looks ok i guess but a spy having granades meh how boring i would rather jump on them break there neck hold them hostage have a silanced pistol go behind them grap em kick em in the but lol.
he did a lan game just to show what the main point is. Thats why theres no opponents. Also, there are no tazers its just a regular gun that takes health when shot.
He was on Visit a map, but I hate to think how this game plays out against the other team of spies..
Considering you get night vision and thermal goggles, all hiding in the shadows is out the door in favour of deathmatch, just to think that this was the drivel we were going to be given while 360er's got SvM makes me utterly cringe.
i agree with valserp it probably would have been funner to play that SvS than this fucked up SvM. :-\
lol don't tell ubi that or they'll kill us for making them switch.
The only thing I like about the SvS is that it reminds me of sweet, sweet CT. It doesn't even look like a different game, just a different gameplay option.
LoL are you guys serious?
I havn't played SvS, but if both teams are equally equipped spies with thermal's and NVG to see in the dark, I fail to see where the 'Stealth' Element fits in. You may as well play UT, Quake or some other Deathmatch orientated game.
While SCDA SvM isnt exactly how we enjoyed it in SCPT and SCCT, it still has the fundamentals of SvM -
3rd person spies who can hide in shadows and use stealth,
1st person mercs who cant see through the shadows and must guard the objectives.
I cant be arsed with a 'There is no more stealth PD is teh Suxx0rz fuck ubi they ruined my SvM' discussion, If you dont like SCDA thats your own opinion which your entitled to and wont try and sway you, but I think its well balanced and much closer to classic SvM than this SvS bullshit... SvS is as bad an idea as full daylight missions in SP where hiding isnt an option (it isnt there at all).
/me thinks SvS can not be better than the crap that DA versus is, but I would like to see it in action nevertheless.

i like how u used the third person xD
and i think i would like the SvS because i was an aggro spy most of the time so it wouldnt be that far from what i was used to.

Definitely, I completely agree with you. I said SvS was shit when I first saw it and it still looks like it. I just like how it visually looks similar to CT because it reminds me how awesome CT is ;D

Yes I noticed the similarities graphics wise, reminded me too :) If its the same engine though with a few tweaks, then why did they change a winning formula? thats what im thinking...
They could have just kept SCCT style SvM for the original xbox version with the few minor graphical and hud upgrades and new maps to mix it up a bit. I bet it was some sort of shady deal with MS to convince xbox users to have to buy a 360 if they want to keep playing SvM...
Double Agent has seen some of the most dubious decisions ever made in both single and multiplayer modes, god help splintercell 5.
Actually, There's only Night Vision. No thermal. NV is also limited to a few seconds, it has to recharge.

Actually the stealth element is pretty much the same in DA's SvS
and SvM - hiding behind obstacles instead of shadows. Have you noticed that in DA SvM you can barely hide in shadows? You need a pitch-black room to hide that spit of bare skin on your spy's noodle. So basically, that gameplay element, coupled with the PD, suggests that you always use the plethora of vents available in order to be "stealthy".
Ubi did that wrong - they went from too tight chokepoints(on some maps) to no chokepoints at all. No chokepoints means barely any conflict. No conflict means no interaction. While I'm not dissing DA SvM as a poor game overall, it's definately not "stealth". I'd call it "outmaneuvering gameplay".
So what I meant by SvS looking better was - it employs it's own type of outmaneuvering gameplay and still has all our favourite gadgets from the old SvM(which suggests a bit more depth than a regular DM game). It's still dumb, it's still a kidz game, ... it still has an aspect that we miss in DA SvM.
If that is your opinion valserp, then you are entitiled to to it.
But I have no problems at all hiding in shadows. The Shadows are there and darker than ever, its more about the PD leading the merc to you and letting him know where to point his torch than anything else. The bald head of the spy is as dark in light shadow as the full masked spy is to a merc. The game maps the spy models with pixel shading effects that blends them into the shadow, this is almost impossible to judge when playing spy as this effect isnt rendered, but play as merc and get a buddy to stand in light shadow using that skin and you will see what I mean.
The simple solution if its so hard to judge whether your hidden or not is to use the 3rd spy skin, it takes about an hour or so of gameplay to unlock.

I'll stop here, since I don't have the full game. Won't be buying until I hear that the joining system works perfectly.
pro skins of the spies are quite awesome.
But Val is right so far about the gameplay of DA. It is not stealth, its camping in vents and popping your head out when you dont hear the PD...then duck back in the vent as soon you see a light or PD.
Once Spy gets into a particular area of the map that he can maneuver quite easily to avoid getting killed. He then just nibbles a small percentage by going between 2 objectives.
There are several maps that allow routes between 2 objectives while never leaving a vent. Although a couple do not have very good places for spies to hack and escape quickly...it is very hard for mercs to do anything in these cases.
It is at this point that mercs will need to work as a team to flush out the spies....and the only way that is possible is we all join clans.
omfg sooooooooooooooooooooooooo kewl

Can you please move to SCL for necroposting? You can do that all you want there, instead of spamming =/
