Public Discussion / Re: Estimated date?

Now that I have about 8 hours of Blacklist's multiplayer under my belt... I'm checking in here for a final time. After over 7 years, I think it's finally time to move on. Blacklist doesn't hit all the high notes, but it comes close enough for me and my friends.

I hope one day I get proven wrong, and I'll end up eating my words when this gets released on Steam and gets thousands of players. But for now, 7 years of waiting has proven too long. Especially considering Blacklist gets it 80% right, and is available to play right this moment... I guess the times have changed. I'm really starting to wonder if the remaining 20% is just nostalgia.

All the best. And make the best damn game you can.

Public Discussion / Re: Merc Aiming Sensitivity

I don't mind the merc turning speed being reflex-fast (unlike the console version). While the console version required mercs to work together more to stay alive, I always felt like it missed the point. The merc was supposed to be the hunter -- the powerful one who stalked his prey and kept the objectives safe. The online community for CT eventually evolved the opposite way. Spies would stalk mercs from the shadows and easily kill them. It was more frightening and nerve wracking playing as a merc then it was as a "weaponless" spy.

A quick turning speed for the mercs would give them an advantage, and force aggro spies to either be very good, very cooperative or very lucky. Spies go for objectives. Mercs go for spies. Spies focus on stealth and recon, mercs focus on setting traps and patrolling.

I'm sure there will be a lot more of us abandoned Splinter Cell SvM fans streaming in here from the Ubisoft forums now that Ubisoft has officially hammered the last nail into Splinter Cell's coffin. I put a link in my signature on the Ubisoft forums, so hopefully people will see it and forget about that failure of a game. I'm an atheist, but I wish I wasn't so that I could hold out hope for there being a special spot in hell reserved for Maxime Beland, being that he murdered the game.
Well, it's nice to know these forums are filled with negative people who aren't open to new ideas... it's also keen how quickly you scoff someone elses creative work without having even experienced it. Bravo, sir. Bravo.

Long time SC fan (still), who is avidly waiting for the SC reboot in Conviction, SvM or no. However, I'm really excited about this new project, and will be watching it closely. The world needs some stealthy advesarial action, and it's comforting to know someone is picking up the torch.
