When I think system requirements I think "download time" Not all of us have the luxury of good internet. I myself have been on dsl or lower speeds for the past 10 years. Before that, no internet. Not until I moved out on my own did I get some bad ass 15mbps cable hookup. So even if the game is only 2gb, some people want to know if it runs before they spend 40 hours downloading it just to realize their computer sucks. Now this is usually when tech support gets flooded with stupid questions resulting in the answer "dell computers can't run this with their crappy intel brand built in graphics card on your crappy 512mb ram POS" Which was the case for me when I BOUGHT splinter cell chaos theory for pc. I know for a fact I can run it, I just like to see system spec requirements because I like to see what the games are packing and know if I should overclock or not when I run it.

Join Us / Not an application

But this seemed like the best place to post this.

I had a question about the concept artist position. You're looking for sketches of maps I'm assuming considering the characters are already done right? I won't be able to do exact dimensions in my sketches, but it's not like it matters since it's all getting 3d modelled anyways, and the modeller will know what the hell he's doing. But assuming this is correct I could apply. I just can't do characters. I don't know why, but I'm great at drawing locales and subtle scenery. Let me know and I'll make a formal application based on your response.

nubishdubishbone had been nohing but courteous in all of his posts and i think he deserved more than to come back to see how THE GAME ( you know the purpose for this forums) is doing to read some asshole not even involved in development flinging shit at one of your members.

I just lost the game.

Maybe agent is lonely and wants to talk to people more often  :D

Do you use actual people with actual computers? or do you throw it through a bad ass computer running vmware emulating a bunch of different types of computers?
If you're using the former, I have a pretty decent computer that I can also overclock the graphics card on (i doubt that will be necessary since it's just unreal tournament, but meh)

Just curious, never really known how people do it honestly.

Public Discussion / Re: Resolutions

The best thing to do is not cut off vertical or horizontal fov. Both play a crucial part in gameplay. 16:10/16:9 resolutions are pretty much the only way to go right now. And honestly if thats a problem it will be too bad. Perhaps it should be listed in the game requirement specs. And if you don't have one of those resolutions your computer will adjust and you can have squishy HUDS and squishy hard to hit enemies :)

This thread reminds me of the Ubisoft forums.

Thanks guys.
The memories were not lost after all.

I have an idea. Go learn a skill that the PS dev-team needs. Perfect it, and by the time you're done getting it through your skull you might be able to help them finish up early. Hmm... ever think of that? Next time you think about asking someone for a deadline remember this; If you're working as hard as you can on something, even if you're burnt out and working slower than usual, you're gonna get pissed if someone asks you when it'll be done. The only stress relief for that scenario is A work slower because your work isn't appreciated. or B be a smart ass and get your jollies by saying "it's done when it's done.
Honestly I commend whoever it was for even throwing out the august possibility because that shows they still care enough about the project that they're doing neither A or B just doing what they want to do. So shut your smart "11 post" ass up and go back to ubisoft if ignorance is your forte.

So basically SM2 support is just a waste of memory, if we want low graphics project stealth just include a SM1, 3, and 4? (well.. you might not need 4) Personally I don't care one way or another, size, shader model, graphics. Just happy to see this well under development to the point where you have to ask these questions. I have pixel shader 4.0 on my graphics card, so honestly this thread shouldn't concern me...
