"On friday night on the XBOX World 360 magazine podcast, I heard that Splinter Cell:Conviction will see the light of day after 3 years in development at E3 2009"

So what are peoples expectations?

good / bad / no longer give a crap?

Do you think theyve incorpated l&s more?

My opinion is that they still kept the general direction of the story line and game mode of social stealth just to save face, however i bet they also added a good balance of nightish time missions and stealthy shadow sneaking around.

as for multiplayer? who knows, i hope they stick with the good ol' spy vs. merc.

Westfall

Don't really care anymore, but imo it's going to be garbage

LoChang

Singleplayer is completely story-based, which wouldn't be bad had they stayed with the bad-ass formula of Sam Fisher in the NSA, NOT a fugitive.

Multiplayer will undoubtedly be a joke.

We'll see. There's no way I'm buying it, until it's had proper support AND is in the budget bin.

Agreed. I know the PC version will be a shitty console port that will be plagued with bugs and
generally just need a bunch of patches. Maybe by the time it's in the $10 bin it will be worth
picking up.

The other problem is the whole concept of the game. From all I've read, gone is the black
suit and gadgets and now Sam wear's a hoodie and walks the streets. To me that isn't Splinter
Cell that's some fuckin homeless guy mugging people and trying to evade authorities. Sad turn
of the story line if you ask me.

Has the game design changed since their initial press release 2 years ago?  I have not been following up on it at all.

No word from Ubi. They say it has "evolved", but that can be anything.

One things for sure, if they're going down this direction they best have fixed those animations in the demo...

Verex

From what i heard, the whole project was scrapped and restarted for some reason, maybe they were not happy with it.

The community probably made them get some sense.

Just open a random Convictions topic and 99/100 people say they'll never buy it.

I've been doing some reading about this and it seems that Sc:c was out already but ubi didn't like the game so they scraped the game. Even some discs were created and some people are actually playing the game like Michael Ironside who said that 'Uh i've been playing it like for more than a year now , its strange that noone still has it ' Well something along those lines , so it seems they are remaking sc:c from scratch since 1.5 year ago it seems.

Really now , thats some good news in a while , L and S has a good chance at coming back and same goes to SvM , So i am happy a bit.

P.s Would be a bummer if it would have the same SvM like ct/pt but a bit updated. Would make this project a bit well useless , no hard feeling people but i doubt this would be able to compete vs a company created content , well may be it will but still ubi game will have more players in it since it will have 1000000x more pr even if it would be a lot worse.

On the other hand if you guys do good they might be able to buy your project out , well if you creat a better SvM then thay do , so its not all that bad. Heck they might be able to make it Sc:C compatable since it will probably use the same ut engine . Well if you have some luck.

That SCC is out is a joke made up by Coastal Girl IIRC.

You're probably right about the rest.

Uh , may be they already contracted you to make sc:c multiplayer for them :D ?

Well it would be really good if SvM was back and this project was compatable with sc:c , would be really great.
