It's a mod. You can do almost anything inside the game in exchange for being able to do almost nothing outside the game. Including all these topics about ranking and especally all those ones that require a PS server to store some data. That's how mods work.

No one ever listens to me. UT3 had corss platform play support BEFORE they signed with gamespy. Quote me now, it will also allow for mod transfers (and possibly cross platform play) for X360, too.

back on topic: the easiest solution to prohibit cheating is a good replay system and one global account/cd key, so you just ban cheaters and that's it.

PB has always been a complete pain in the ass for quake 3.

Running two fresh installs of Q3 and having them play against each other proves to be impossible without going to the evenbalance site and manually updating all the PB crap, and then take a framerate hit to boot.

Yeah, when i wanted to play 1v1 on 17 wit a friend, i made a server (punkbuster disabled), and he couldn't join because of what? PUNKBUSTER OF COURSE!!! even though it was disabled goddamit -.-
