ok i was looking at the new screen shot and what i see is a white spy and 4 black spies farther away fading out in proportion to distance.

from what i see i deduce that the white spy is the spy that is in movement and therefore high-lighted by MT vision, while the other black spies are a demonstration of how the spy can be seen while not in movement and according to distance.

--if im wrong about what i previously said plz explain how this vision works--

if im right well then, heres my comment on it:

Since it is a Motion Tracking vision, i think that it would be better if u guys made the not-in-motion spies a lot less visible than they are.

simply because it is called motion tracking i suppose that it would be reasonable to make it a motion traking vision only!

and also because it is lame that spies can be seen even when being still as if MT were Night Vision.

being a spy is about stalking and being quick. i think its fun when ur a spy and ur reacting very fast and turning off your gadgets when u see that merc goes to EMF.
it is also fun and difficult to react fast and freeze yourself the instant you detect that merc goes to Motion Tracking vision, but for your skills/speed/concentration/effort to be ruined by some lame MT that detects spy when they are NOT in motion is lame.

i hope u understand. let me know what you think.

When the spy is not in motion, he will be completely invisible in MT, but the other stages are just to show how it progressively increases how the spy is lit in MT when he is moving even a little, and then the Highlighted spy when it finally detects it. The one standing still doesn't lit up.

Spies' opacity depends on distance from the Merc and speed. Spies who dont move are invisible.
Spies who move in the distance at speed X are less visible than Spies who move at half that distance at speed X.
However... if you run/fall/(jump?) anywhere, doesn't matter how far the Merc is, is you're in his field of vision, you will be highlighted.

Will the highlight stay up like in CT after the spy leaves the mercs fov?
I hope not ::)

ok cool cause im pretty sure that in SCCT motion tracker can see spies even when they dont move which is pretty gay, and yes it also tracks things that arent in the field of view of the merc which is lame too

its cool that u are going to fix that, but now i have a different question

how much lag will the MT vision have for it to react and highlight? will spies have at least half a second to react and stop moving if they see a merc using MT?

and another question, is: after having cleared the fact that MT will not detect objects that are not in movement in PS (unlike in SCCT); does this mean that a merc can walk by a spy 2 feet away and not see the spy if he is leaning back to the wall for example?

ok ty in advanced.

and for all who are against making this change in MT cause they enjoy using it as NV well u can still use laser in combination with the new MT and detect still objects. :D

As far as I know, it'll be instant. So if you are running and you see a Merc coming with MT on, he will have seen you. However, if you are running, he probably heard already. If you were sneaking, you're not really that visible, and if you're lucky, he might not notice it. Depends on your speed and distance. This is not final, we might implement a short delay. Depends on testing.

Currently, yes. We might implement some distortion effect later tho, which will be hard to notice. Depends on testing ;)

I would actually like it if the spy was visible when not in motion, but very vaguely, I mean... you see the walls, are they moving? It wouldn't make sense if anything that is not moving is invisible  :-\

Geometry has been programmed in when the Mercs arrived. That's why walls and objects are visible, but non-moving Spies are not.

If you look very closely, you could actually see a ghost-spy to the most right >.>

Even when you're not moving, you should be against a wall or something, because the merc will see your ghost if you just stand in the middle of the room. Or I misunderstood MR.Mic, whatever.

We have a ghost in EMF (see MR.Mic's EMF video), though.

You misunderstood me.

You are completely invisible in MT when still.
Your visibility level is directly proportional to your speed of movement.
When you pass a certain speed threshold, you turn from black to highlighted and the merc is alerted with a sound.

What about the sound? Will it go SHNYANANANA like it does in CT as soon as it detects movement?
