Hereby I recommend G2Play to everyone, I've ordered multiple games from them (Most notable: 2x Left 4 Dead, 1x Orange Box, 1x Half-Life Classic pack - 10 games -) and gained Premium status (giving me access to free keys* and bulk discounts :D).

I believe Rambo got his UT3 copy from G2Play as well.

I suggest you get it now while it's cheap, because you really need a legal copy of UT3 to get PS to run at all, we have rules to mind (specifically: EULA).

* Only once in a while. No really, ONCE in a while.

What's the difference between L4D and L4D uncut? Bonus footage and such? I think I'm the only one of my friends who enjoyed the dev commentary mode.

cut = censored version: Can't shoot off limbs (including heads), less blood
uncut = normal version :)

Haha, I just read about it. Zombies just disappear when they catch fire and there are no ragdolls either. ;D Apparently Crysis had the ragdolls turned off aswell because of that, some guy wrote:
Quotethe developers of Crysis are a German company, which is why the Crytek engine in the game has all of the ragdoll properties completely disabled. Apparently, you can murder as gorily as you want but curse you straight to the underworld if you need to move a dead body that happens to be in your way. They just DO NOT tolerate "undead" or any sort of moving of dead people. Dead monsters I guess is ok (RE5)?

Ah, germans. ^_^

And it's really bad with Left 4 Dead. Imprisonment up to 1 year is the penalty to TALK about Left 4 Dead in public in Germany. You're not allowed to play it if there's minors present either.

The censored version has no ragdolls. Zombies disappear as soon as you shoot them. There's no blood. Green smoke, like the smoke when you shoot smokers will appear instead of blood. You can't dismember limbs, etc.

The cover is also censored both in Germany and Japan: http://www.geek.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/12/xboxl4d_japan2.jpg

According to german law Ã,§ 131 StGB (to make it more clear, this is for distributors. Customers can still own the uncut version without problems) you must not import, create, demand, supply or offer the game if you plan the following:
- Selling the game
- Showing game content in public
- Supplying or making the game accessible to someone minor

The game may not be mentioned in any medium, except if the story is connected to historical content or connected to events of the day.

The only version allowed to sell in Germany is the censored version, which still is 18+.

If my heart ever heals, I will make sure it'll never break again.

Westfall

That's quite interesting and shitty.... AT THE SAME TIME!

Those germans are such nazis about mature rated games
Don't generalize, the granny's in the government are enforcing this, just like they do in the US of A with the ESRB.

Succubus Dryad Of The Undying Comet

Is it possible for a game to be marketed and sold without an ESRB rating?

Some have been sold on PEGI, although in England the ESRB has recently become the official rating system for games.

in germany, politics are nothing but lobbying, getting paid for doing exactly nothing as a politician/advisor and not saying one politically incorrect word (stuff like we don't need to accept and feed every fucking foreigner, that regenerative powers are bullshit, that computer games, pornos and illegal downloads aren't that bad for children, that there is in fact a difference between women and men, etc.), it's really sad having to watch this ignorance unfold.
on the age rating thingy: more and more folks above 18 are playing computer games, and the internet is replacing national media and game stores more and more. my guess is that it will be harder and harder for those idiots to enforce those bs policies.

ps: lennie, i got the steam version

I just got UT3 for 7 bucks for xbox.  I'll pick up UT3 for PC when PS is almost done.   :)
