I think there's too many retards on these forums, but that might just be me. I don't see any reason why we couldn't have it, it adds to the fun you can have with the game, the people who say it's distracting or for "CSS Noobs" really need to take their fingers out of their ass. If people do want to know a 'practical' use for it, movie making ;).
Agreed.

Sure this game is meant to please CT vets but if you want more than just the 5 of you guys playing together then you'll need to take into account what other people want aswell. I'm guessing deathmatch is also not going to be added based on the attitude against it from some of the devs despite it being a simple thing to add. Adding more options to attract other players isn't ever a bad thing, even if you don't like it yourself.

How can you not think the second is a cleaner solution?

Or you could just completely leave out the headshot indicator and lose pretty much nothing but whatEVER.

ps how on earth could having an icon make your movies any better?

( holy shit I am clean as FUCK)

I guarentee if this had been implemented in ct from the beginning nobody would be saying "oh remove the headshot symbol its pointless and distracting and uses 30 of my precious pixels" but oh i forgot, anything new / not in CT automatically sucks according to most people on this forum.

Some people need to take their head from their ass.

Being new doesn't automatically make something good you clowny clown clown.

You don't need to "add" deathmatch to be able to play it.

frvge

Deathmatch is just the game with more lives, less respawn time and no timer. IMO you should be able to use all visions and gadgets, except for mines and sticky cams.

Well I was reading through this thread and it got me thinking, Wouldn't it be great if there was no scoreboard and no global kill indication?

Here is my thinking. A spy dies while in your FOV, "a spy has been killed". This way you don't know that they are dead and you can stop chasing them, but it doesn't tell you who it was so you will never know if a spy used up all his lives. This emphasises teamwork, you should let your partner know if you killed the spy or even if he killed you since there wont be text to inform him.

Also, since mines and other traps will often times kill a careless spy while the merc isn't present, removing/destroying a mine will have more tactical significance. More creative misdirection can be achieved with a system like this.

My $0.02..............Thoughts?

I like it, but I think Zed hinted at this when he said "we are getting rid of the So and So part."

The game definitely changes when you know a guy is out of lives. Even in PT without the HUD, you just counted.

LoChang

I like that idea.  Makes it more suspenseful and interesting.

That may be your opinion, but a lot of people enjoy watching them (and even editing them). It's good for the people who do like them to have these videos around, and if you play the game that these films are about they tend to become more interesting. I play CSS with Semi-Pros so trust me, there's more to it than you think. I garuantee with your attitude about CSS that if you played against a good team like Dignitas or Reason Gaming, you would fail hard. It's important to have fast reactions, quick tactical decisions and use logically use your equipment in Counter Strike, just like Splinter Cell. Not all players of Counter Strike are your run of the mill public players.

It's also important to note that most of the frags you see in professional Counter Strike movies are pulled off not because the player is frag hunting, but because they are defending their bomb bombsite, or trying to gain access to a bombsite to plant the bomb or defuse it ;).

Obviously if your trying to show off frags in a movie, the details of the frag are importantr. If you can see more details about the frag, then it becomes more interesting. This also makes certain frags more entertaining to watch, as headshots are harder to land than body picks (provided you don't spray and prays).

Just because you're not a fan of Counter Strike, that doesn't make my arguments obselete. The fact is that these icons provide a more detailed indication of how you have killed your opponents, and the icon doesn't have to be limited to headshots either. It can be used to show if the kill was caused by mines (proving a good cue for mercs), nades (useful for both spies and mercs) or even suicide (for teh lulz).

I like this idea but only in the sense of removing the scoreboard, because as I've explained before I think that for games like SvM, where complexity is key to the appeal, this type of system provides many benefits for you as you play the game.

Just because my comment doesn't make your comment obsolete, doesn't make my comment obsolete.
