Although if by this you mean that you actually acknowledge the possibility where mercs are the ones tasked with neutralizing objectives, I must say I'm utterly intrigued by the thought.

Currently in Lakehouse the Mercs are protecting property of connections guerilla rebels. They are related to the bad guys. The Spies are the good guys getting information from the bad guys. Now if you turn that around, you can have Spies being bankrobbers trying to steal access codes for the vault, and the Mercs being the guards. If you think of 'removing a Spy's bomb as Merc' as neutralizing an objective, then yes, Mercs have objectives. Just to be clear: we don't have any assets for a sabotage/bomb mode. We're focusing on the PC hacking first ;).

It is also possible for Mercs to blast their way through a maze or w/e, trying to gain access to the secret lair of the Spies. The Spies would attack the Mercs by sneaking up on them and grabbing them. That would be a bit like Survival, with spawn points along the way. If you get grabbed, you respawn at a previous check-point.

This is just brainstorming and illustrating the possibilities of creating our own game.

Hope you make that Sabotage/Extraction stuff soon. Personally, I like to see an Extraction focused map.
Do guys you remember Horizon Corporation from Mr. Mic's pack? On the third and final stage deep in the secluded, secret basement, the spies had to get a disk and go back all the way to the rooftop. Climbing up the hole in the roof was a bitch, but that's what i call an extraction.
