How about you implement the option but for it to be enabled everyone in the server needs to independently agree to it? If one person disagrees you can't record.

That way if you want to teach someone something you can or if you want to make a video you can but if you want your tactics to stay secret you can do that too.

Yeah, would be nice ;)

We can possibly have:
- global replay (all players should agree) and you can fly around the map, or look through someone else's eyes.
- individual replay (it only captures what you would have seen). Secrets stay hidden.

it would be great if replays were obligational in tournaments...

Gawain: I don't think we will ever have an official built in tournament system. I am personally guessing (From how this community prefers to do it) that just like all our other tournaments we will have it community sponsored based on the trust system. Just tell everyone who wants to compete that they need to enable replay

this is exaclty what i meant to say lol

Fraps. Nuff said.
No. An in-game replay system would keep the files under 1 MB. The reason is cuz a replay system doesn't actually make a video, it just stores the sequence of actions and then uses the game engine to repeat it. The min you could record an entire match in fraps is at least a gigabyte before it gets compressed into like 100 MB.

Yep.  And the best part is, you can playback the demo and fraps that, instead of recording the actual gameplay.  You know, if you need an .avi of it.
