in the realtime-strategy scene replays are a very popular way for improving. you can analyse your own mistakes after the game and learn strategies from the pros; furthermore it can be more exciting than watching tv  ;D
on the other side this feature should be disengageable especially in a stealth game if you dont want to show your strat to everyone. ;)
so what do you think, is it a reasonable feature and if so, could it be implemented easy enough?  ???

btw, love the smileys

best to piggy back off ut3's feature.

I'm sure epic will bring that to the table.

You can look at players realtime from the CT-dedicated server. But only if the client has allowed that.
I think preserving the strategies of good players and finding it out yourself is much more rewarding than a cam spoiling it. But maybe you can only record yourself, that might be possible.

I WANT DEMOS.
like in ut/ q3/ etc - you could record them into lil files(5 mins was about 500kilos) without any visible loss of framerate.

As somebody who is a fanatic when it comes to CT vids, I would definitely love to see this working in PS.

I agree, this would be good for people just starting.  But once people get better this would be really useless.  In DA this led to glitches and made people lose their lives over and over for no reason.  If implemented correctly and carefully this would be an okay idea.

Yeah, the idea of demos makes my penis hard.

Same. No, I just mean I like the idea, lol.

Seriously though, it'd be a great feature. You could record games without losing too many frames per second. Good if you've a bad PC. Then, when making vids, just play the replay and record that. Besides, it would save a lot of space.

If UT has a base game recording feature we could use, then I say use it. If not, it's not worth it if it requires any extra coding.

Fraps. Nuff said.
No. An in-game replay system would keep the files under 1 MB. The reason is cuz a replay system doesn't actually make a video, it just stores the sequence of actions and then uses the game engine to repeat it. The min you could record an entire match in fraps is at least a gigabyte before it gets compressed into like 100 MB.
