It's just in his blood.  1st person while hacking the computer might seem cool, but there would be no real advantage other than eye candy.  Most of the time you would want to be looking over your shoulder for mercs and nades flying at you so you can know when to run away.  It would be quite noobish to switch to 1st person to stare at a computer.

I think that a necessary change to the game would be to switch perspectives on both teams.  Mercs play in 3rd person so they have better situational awareness when being attacked by aggro spies, and spies play in 1st person so that they can see all the funny secret messages that the dev team will put on the hacking screen.

Another good idea would be to switch to first person view for hacking a bomb.  We could see the full detail of the bomb to appreciate it as it counts down.  Then, it can blow up in our face so we can see a huge explosion near our eyes before our screen splatters with blood.  The view could shift to see all of our body parts flying through the air.  :D
