this simply is a question of the amount of laptops. on factory there are 8 (!) ones, and it is still a balanced map allowing both aggro and stealth. by contrast, in club it is possible to camp one floor, as one needs 4 out of 6 objectives...

I'm sorry, but you can't get rid of this anymore than you can stop someone from headshotting you with the rifle because he pings lower than you. Lag is a part of internet gaming, and with such a small community we have to put up with higher pings than with most other games.

One of the reasons that Lo and I made an effort to have the mercs host in the last tourney is that I can deal with someone who is hitting their shots consistently. I can't deal with getting cammed before I even hear the noise. In general, there are a lot more things that the spies can do in this game to exploit host advantage, but presumably those will be fixed. I don't think that quick-camming needs to be removed in general, though.

I'd love if they could add 50 ms lag compensation like Q3A has, though (or does it have 100 ms lag compensation?).

Yeah, why not - i remember a mod in Q3 that allowed 150ms lag comp., while the default is 50

i would spend at least 5 bucks/month for a good ps online experience, so if each clan leases some dedicated servers for the regular players this should be np.

frvge

It's just prediction of movements. If that goes wrong, it'll look like lag too   ;D

@Gawain, and at most? :p That's more interesting for me.

i dunno how much money i'll earn in 2 years, but 10â,¬/month for the best game ever should be ok ;D
right now im low on money because im saving for an auzen prelude and some festival tickets :(
in most established bf2/2142 clans, members have to pay a fee for the clan server, and there are much more kiddies compared to the rich vets here :P

lol, if it could determine the gamer's style and stuff, to predict more accurately, it would OWN

Well, client side gas mask actually goes a long way to fixing this. That way at the very least you can always hit the gas mask key fast enough to activate it.

The downside is that people could create gas mask hacks to basically always have their gas mask on when they get hit by something, but it should definitely work to nullify most of the lag issues with quick cams.

Yeah, it should be in place ;D

Overstatement

I think the gas mask is clientside already. The real problem is that lag makes you hear the cam a little too late for gas mask.

nah, if it were clientside, you'd never get KOed after you had rightclicked to activate the mask. As it is now, there's a delay before you're protected. I'm suggesting that that delay be elimianted. Thus basically when you get gased, your client determines if you get KOed or not, instead of the server.

Nah, 150 is too much. Imagine lag charges, but now with shots and everything else, too. Even 100 is stretching it.

The gasmask isn't client-side, but the small delay is necessary in some situations.

SITHDUKE

Correct me if I'm wrong but the 205 Motion sensor is still there.

Uh I think it was programmable with the command "cl_timenudge" and the number of ms you would like to compensate for(with a minus infront - like this: /cl_timenudge -150).
