Soccer is actually extremely intense in terms of endurance and has plenty of good gameplay, setting up shots, etc. It's boring to you because America usually sucks at soccer hard because it's a European sport. It's no more boring than sitting through a baseball game or hockey game. Perk is that time never stops...no timeouts or bullshit like that. Play to the end and hope you can get a goal. It's boring to the impatient. Also one of the first sports ever....come on, kick the ball into this area and it's a goal....see who has the most at the end. Incredibly boring and stupid, what an awesome approach. You must not be into sports.

They can censor w/e they want. You can still find it.
The skill of the American team is irrelevant; soccer is simply not fun to watch. They have a net as wide as your mom's vagina and only manage to put about 8 shots on goal a game in 90 minutes worth of playing time. The rest of the time is spent piddling around in the middle of the field bouncing a ball back and forth aimlessly.

I am not denying that soccer requires a large amount of endurance for the players, but this has little to do with its entertainment value. And while you tout soccer's lack of stopping time, that stopping time is what makes sports enjoyable to many people. At what point in a soccer game do I get up to go get a beer? I can't do it between innings, between 15-20 minute quarters, when the ball changes possession, or when there's a time out. Nope, I have to sit glued to the TV hoping I don't miss the 15 seconds of a soccer game where something eventful happens. There actually is a study around the 'net somewhere that Americans prefer sports like football, baseball and basketball because there is a clear-cut back and forth, and the breaks in the action are predictable enough to get a beer, make some food, or drain the lizard. I'm not saying that's why I like those sports, but it rebuts the argument that soccer is better entertainment simply because it has no stoppage time.

Additionally, I don't deny that you can find some bootleg copy of a replay on the 'net; that doesn't change the fact that FIFA is the only sports organization that is obnoxious enough to ban legitimate sports media outlets from replaying highlights. It's like there's some German guy with a blowout haircut on the other end going "fuk u americans, only FIFA site has replays" with fucking techno music in the background.

Funny, I would rather watch soccer than read your poor excuse of justifying why soccer is boring. There are plenty of eventful things that end up happening throughout the game. If you don't like soccer...then you don't like soccer <--- This has pure relevance as to why soccer is not boring. To you it may be boring as sin, but its due to you not liking the sport. I'm sure you can appreciate it for what it is, but that has no link to it being boring. That's like me saying your Mom is boring in bed...you know, you may not think so, but I do because it lacks entertainment value.

Ion is just using sarcasm to get a virtual world war 3 going online.  Ignore.

I don't care about your opinion on why they did it, they still did it. Like I said, they are the only major sports organization that is so stuck up that it bans media outlets from replaying highlights. I have seen plenty of "botched call" replays from all other major sports.
So you do not care about the fact that FIFA most likely "banned" them from showing the replay with a completely legitimate reason? FIFA would never keep companies with the rights to show footage from their world cup away from replaying a bad call from a referee. And the call was not even that bad if you compare it to what happened yesterday etc. So stop being an idiot. You should have figured this out yourself with your common sense instead of hating on FIFA or soccer. You can criticize FIFA for many reasons but this is definitely not one of them.
You must not be reading my posts, or you are and are just ignoring what I said.

No other sport blocks replays of botched calls, nor are botched calls a valid reason for an organization to block replays.

I <3 U

well englands 2nd goal the other day against germany was disallowed and it was about a foot over the line. they replayed that like 10 times...

GASP!  FIFA has apologized to England/Mexico!  Thing is, that does absolutely no good whatsoever and they missed about 10 other countries that they owe apologies.

Thing is, I couldn't care less.  This world cup has been a snoozer apart from a few bright spots.  It has been handled terribly as well.

No, you are the one not reading what I say. I shall try to put it an other way. Listen, FIFA do not directly block replays of botched calls. They may do it indirectly by not allowing companies without the rights to show footage from the tournament to show any replays from the tournament at all and therefore also the replay of the botched call but that is completely legitimate and fair. In fact, I think all similar organizations follow the same procedure. As I said before, you cannot criticize FIFA for doing this. You are really the only one being ignorant here.

FIFA is talking about having replay allowed in the next World Cup. I haven't found any source of censorship like you are talking about. I know in North Korea they would only show when they scored a goal and nothing else. Otherwise I've seen nothing of what you're talking about. Do you mean the in game stadium replays??

You should listen to WFAN more often, considering we both live in the same state now.

I didn't know Westfall lived in Antarctica.

Perhaps nobody told you yet, Spekkio, but you should not believe anything you hear.

When did you move here? Are you in Groton? I rarely listen to AM, but will check it out. Is it usually good stuff?

Okay, you fuckers are being really, really retarded.

Firstly, I witnessed this first hand. Ergo, I am the reference. And while I can understand you want to be skeptical of something someone says over the internet, I have no reason to lie about this. You can continue to disbelieve me, but that just makes you dumb.

Secondly, a radio station that makes its money by talking sports and replaying highlights isn't going to lie to its audience about FIFA blocking its ability to replay highlights. If they could play the replays, they absolutely would -- that's how they make their money.

Thirdly, this double speak about blocking it for botched calls or blocking it for rights is really irrelevant; while other sports organizations might block the live broadcast, no organization attempts to control HIGHLIGHTS in this manner.

So stfu and stop being dumb

Yes, in Groton, and I listen it to get sports scores vs. watching ESPN.  660 am.

How long are you posted here for, or did you noose to chill there?
