Hey gang.

Been A while since i've been here to check on progress. Just got back from recovering from the cancer that I got from playing Conviction. It was a hard fight indeed....

I've seen some of the new media and noticed that the spy was interacting with some laptops.. Is Remote interaction with certain objects in the map still a go? One of my main peeves about CT is hacking a terminal at close proximity. Almost always met with a grenade at my feet..

One thing I thought of was perhaps a Spy would be required to physically connect some sort of wireless module to the device via USB before he could initiate a hack remotely. Another idea within that would be the possibility for the spy could or could not be allowed to move and act freely  as long as he maintained a line of sight and a certain proximity? I'm just thinking that hacking objectives could be more..... objective..

Lets be honest here... Please don't flame me for this but.... Love it or hate it, SCDA did bring some GREAT ideas to the table that far surpassed CT. I (For one) am against giving a spy a shocker weapon simple because of how annoying it is. But i could get around that.

I absolutely love what i'm seeing from you guys though. Every time I lose faith in stealth games in general, I come here to again feel uplifted at this games possibilities.

Now.. you people really need to get picked up by a publisher.... After all this progress, you deserve it.

I like the idea of placing something on the objective and then being able to hack for a wireless glove.

Is remote hacking code-wise possible in the future? Yes.
Will it be in Project Stealth's first release? No.

I really hope that the wireless hacking won't go to the stage where Project Stealth removes "Prox/Las/Pois mines" and "Sticky Cameras"

Remote hacking isn't balanced in my opinion. The spy could just hide somewhere and hack, and the merc would never be able to find him.

If my heart ever heals, I will make sure it'll never break again.

In theory that's the whole reason remote hacking would be useful at all considering it would take much longer to hack.  A little bit of time spent adjusting the range and speed of the hacking and in no time it would be balanced.

Oh he was talking about DA where they went too far with simplifying things.  No Dread I don't think that the dev team would ever do that  :-X  lmao

You can add something without taking away other features, something Ubi doesn't know for some reason.

Sounds to me , someone doesn't take the proper precautions like.. using heart beat to scan the area before going ahead and hacking ..or placing a spy bullet near the closest location of a merc to know when to stop hacking.. =/..

you obviously never played sc:da.
hacking speed decreases with distance and you need those extra seconds the merc is looking for you because you can't shock&run.

Precaution isn't the issue. Variety and continuity is.
