Now that the iOS support is built into the UDK, as of the beta released today, is there any hope of a version of PS for my iPad?

Perhaps, not untill the PC version is released though, We will have to slim down textures and models which ofcourse is quite time consuming.

Mostly the poly count of models. Funnily enough, the limits on computational power with the polies can be mitigated by normal maps and fairly high texture resolution, so in the end it still looks good.

But how will the multiplayer work? Is that even possible?

The Program is connected to the Ipad. The Ipad is connected to the Wi Fi , The Wifi  is connected to the server. The server is connected to the data centre.

I thought this topic was a huge joke, but what with this "Mobile Possibility" also being on the actual website (In the FAQs section) I'm kinda dumbfounded.

Or does this mean things like checking your stats, friends online, screenshots, etc.? Cause that would clear the air a bit.

Cronky, you should read the FAQ item as: "in theory it's possible, but unless we have a good reason to try it out, don't count on it"

Cronky, it is possible, but only if they decide to do it.

UDK supports the iOS(iPod/iPad/iPhone) platform now, but it's up to the developers to use it.

Cronky

I'm starting to get the feeling that while possible, the possibility of it going to a mobile device is completely dependent on the developers want to actually use it.

Just a hunch though.
