Customising backpack & refilling gas mask

I assume that in terms of "Max Capacity" of how many Gas Mask recharges you can have is only 1. At that it doesn't recharge it fully (25-50%). So you can't just have a full gas mask the entire game if you sacrifice all your other extras that could be in the backpack.

For example, you could take 2 mines and 2 grenades, OR 1 mine and 3 grenades, etc. And what do you guys think of being able to bring something in your backpack that refills your gas mask a bit? That could also be customised of course, like maybe you could sacrifice 1 grenade in the backpack for a canister that refills 10 seconds of gas mask time or something like that.

I think that the backpack should be removed from the game.

You start the round with X equipment. You can pick up Y refills from ammo crates at anytime throughout the game, but cannot carry more than X at any one time. Y is shared between both teammates, and ammo/gadgets refill gradually over time vs. instantly. You get no refills on death. When X and Y run out, you're SOL.

Oh, and the same thing goes for spies.

The only thing I worry about with that idea, which is the same thing since last time I read it, is that situation where both Mercs or Spies are SOL. Sure, it's their fault for spamming their gadgets away, but it takes away the fun if you're waiting around for gadgets to refill.

Think of how much time in a round would be wasted with Spies and Mercs camping near Ammo Crates because they want at least 1 grenade to use.

Just my thoughts on it.

It's a double edged sword...

If you're losing badly and are out of equipment, yea, chances of winning are nil.

If you're down to the last minute or two, the spies have 1 life left each with 2 seconds on an objective and you have no equipment left, well, that's a lot more tense.

Too true.

It'd be nice to see how both of these "Refill Ammo" ideas worked out in terms of the affect on gameplay. The backpack one would play pretty much the same, but yours might end up pretty nice if they can get a good rhythm on resupplying gadgets.
