Not very fair for people who often crash though...

hard to say if you will crash or not ,so chances are it ain't going to happen because
this is epic games engine we are talking about here not ubisofts.

-Thanks Murdy for da Sig <3  xD

How would you know? So far we don't know anything about the quality of the game that is being created, that we are waiting. All we saw was the animation and the graphic quality, nothing else.

He doesn't necessarily know it, but it can be deducted from a few things. The unreal engine itself is already highly developed, so that minimizes the chances from the engine side. Also the production team wouldn't just let their creation end up crashing constantly, it'll get patched up before any of these stats start to even matter.

P.S. Disconnects should definetly be a stat as well to show how often you rage  :-X

Disconnects are hardly a good stat to measure your raging. My connection is barely at the edge of the area my ISP has hold of, and the connection tends to get a bit jumpy at times when the network is crowded. Sometimes it just cuts out for 30 seconds a few times a day, this in games like HoN where if you go beyond a certain threshold in disconnections you'll end up unable to join all the games because of your 'leave percentage'.

The only stats I'd like to see would be the amount of games you've played, wins and losses on each side, and some arbitary stats like "time spent hacking an objective" and such. Anything else like 'kills/deaths' will just end up in someway affecting how people play the game.

I know it does in HoN where practically everything gets recorded into your statistics. People end up playing like carebears when they could easily by just rushing in with the team hit up a genocide on the opposite team, but won't because their KDR might get a slight hit if they die. Or when the opposing team is already dominating the game, but you still have a good chance to turn it around as long as you work as a team to get a few crucial kills, no-one dares to do anything because it shows up in your statistics if you fuck it up and instead they go for the concede vote and hope they'll be dominating in the next game.

Also, the stats showing should have each individual privacy settings, because there are tons of pricks on CT, who bullshit others who can't even play, yet they are shitting other people that they are better because they played from the start of the PT.

Wait, are you guys saying that smurfing is a reason not to have stat tracking?  The people who smurf obviously won't care about their stats or even be interested to check them out once in a while.

DreadStunLock

Everyone should be able to smurf, and of course it should not be possible to identify them, unless they are banned, but you won't know it anyway....at least I hope the Production Team makes it that way.

By the way, will we be able to whisper to the online players while in-game? The chat system in Starcraft 2 is really great, I hope you guys take some interesting points.

knooger

I don't want to see your crying in main lobby while I am playing a story :D
So, if devs make sth like this I want to disable it.

Smurfing is actually worse for stat tracking if you're going for a #1 spot, anyway. Everytime you start a new account, your kill, objective, wins, winstreak, etc count goes back to 0 and you have to start all over.

Farley4Fan

Sooo.... don't make a new account/smurf if you are interested in your stats?  I just don't get this.
