Finally found Lala land!!!(Kirchentag)

Whenever someone asked me in scct where am I from, I was saying Lala land... But I have never discovered it untill now... Lala land shows up once in a year in Germany under the name "Kirchentag"! The title suggests that it's a religious event(Kirche - church, tag - day) but I was there as a non believer and it didn't turn out bad for me. In reality it's a big party for five days with concerts, plays, markets(there are tents where different people show up like organisations, fundations, homosexuals..., amateur singers etc. And they all want you to participate in some actions or sell something to you.) Wherever you turn you can hear the music, all kinds of it starting from classical and ending on rap or death metal!

This years kirchentag took place in Dresden(next years is in Manheim). As I approached the river and heard the gospel music in my ears and saw people dressed up in kirchentag T-shirts I realised that this is IT... This is Lala land(NOT SPARTA)!

People show up from all over the world for this party. It is truely amazing. You can see musicians from all over the world too, some of them just started their career and they are incrediable! We went to one concert that wasn't anywhere on the first page and didn't get any bigger attention in folder plan either that but it was one of my favourites. The singer's name was Marion Fiedler and she was studying in America(The program said Marion Fiedler and the band - Nashville. At first I thought "America - good music". Then I realised they were German). Anyway the girl's voice was AMAZING I bought her CD right after the concert! I make a bet she'll be famous.

Most of the concerts I went to were the Latino jazz music I enjoyed every each of them. I also went to hear the jewish music that was also an interesting experience. Not because of the band itself but because of Jewish audience! My god that was confusing at first. They were not only singing every song but also making the background! They didn't need anyone to tell them what to do, they just knew it all!!!

To sum up it's the best party I've ever been to and it's a shame that I might not be there next year(exams to university). I recommend kirchentag to anyone who enjoys music! It's a "must be"!

Now to spice up the whole thing. What I didn't like about Kirchentag(Germany):

1. Why you germans have to wash yourself naked!!! I mean I understand when there are women around but show off your penis in front of men?! Wtf!!!
2. Not many pretty girls in germany... Not in Dresden.
3. Why light buildings with purple at night!?
4. What does homosexuals have to do with religion? They already broke the nature law!
5. You could be nicer when encountering hitchhikers...

Nothing more I can think of atm. Now what I liked(that is not the same in poland):

1. Politeness
2. Professionalism
3. Music
4. Transport(S-bahn)

Has anyone else ever been to it before or maybe heard of it?

About the hate between germans and polish. Lots of stereotype here. Anywy they don't know that you're polish untill you start speaking and anyway Ich spreche deutsch also kein problemm. The thing is they don't have habit of takin hitchhikers. When we were going to dresden it didn't take even a full hour to get someone to drive us to the destination but when we were tryin to get out of dresden we had to stand for 5 hours! We were changing the signs like 3 times. First "POLEN" then "OST" then "BAUTZEN" finally some people stopped. My friend was goin wild in the end. He was dancing on the road, coming up to people waiting for the lights to change. Well it was fun after all.
