Naming the game is SAM: Stealth-Action Multiplayer is gay. It's like making a first-person shooter mod and naming it "FPS."

Why? It sounds good. "Gonna play some SAM". Better than "Gonna play some CeeTee".

S.A.M. is also a nice reference to mr S. Fisher, but that's not really important.

I am not saying that the explanation of S.A.M. should be listed immediately after it. That's not right.
But maybe in a faded font on the bottom somewhere.

the problem is that the general concept of svm is unknown to the majority of the gamers. it's like promoting a new product, the name should at least convey that it's a stealth based multiplayer mod and somehow connected to pt/ct versus mode.

atm i'd go for something like:
  -= Project Stealth =-
Stealth-Action Multiplayer / Spies Versus Mercenaries  (depending on what the logo/picture is showing)

So? When Wolfenstein came out, did they have to subtitle it "FPS - First Person Shooter?" Or how about "Super Mario Bros. SSA - Side-scroller Action?" Or "Madden 94 - FS: Football Sim." No, they didn't, because naming a video game after its genre is flamingly homosexual.
