I think it'd be nice to set it up such that you never make sound while on slow-move. Like if you hit jump while on slow move, you will either jump and grab something silently, or not jump at all, but you never miss the jump and hit the ground and make noise.

Similarly it'd be nice if it defaulted to pulling the gun out without the laser (since that pings the reticule) and similar stuff. Just a general thematic that when you're in stealth mode, you never make noise until you turn stealth mode off.

Ummm, did anyone else read that in a whisper tone lol

Well it might be interesting to see in some aspects.  What I think is great what you said is the ability to draw your gun out w/ the laser already off.  It is a pain in the ass to look at the floor or a wall when you draw your gun out just so mercs don't see the laser.  But think of what stealth mode would do to the gameplay.  No accidental jump misses which means you can jump until you grab it but won't make a sound.  I am sure everyone here has missed a jump into a vent or onto a box making them make a sound and give away their position.  That is sort of a key element of gameplay imo.  Accidental noises that give you away.  If you can't jump onto a box w/o making a noise, then you should be found.

papa skull, in the pc version you can pull the gun without laser by pressing the button longer. (wow i kept calm)

in fact this is something i thought about some time ago (+slow mode makes it impossible to trigger mt), but there will be no need with better climbing control (extra button for grabbing ledges), no faster walking on slopes and some brain.

Well, there's a lot of points where your spy just does something dumb. Like instead of stepping up onto a small elevated ledge, he does a full jump or something like that. It'd be nice to just have a stealth mode that said "Don't make sound, no matter what." That way even if you weren't properly aligned to make a given jump or what not, it wouldn't make any sound, just nothing would happen.

doing stupid things automatically is bad >:(

Well it's not stupid because you're making a bad decision, it's just stupid because the controls are bad. I remember that little ledge on hospital where you try to jump up to get to the ziplines outside. There are so many instances where instead of doing a step up manuever, the spy ends up jumping. And sometimes when I'm trying to jump and grab a vent on clubhouse, the spy just happens to jump and not catch the edge. Not really sure why, because he's jumping in line with it, he's just like slightly off target or it doesn't like the angle or something.

And a little misstep like that can really screw you if you're doing a stealth approach, because you just pinged the reticule and now holy hell is coming your way.

I see what you mean.  But think about how much accidental misses effect the gameplay.  Fixing these would make it a lot harder on the merc to find spies.  But this could be balanced out in some way.  I think stealth mode might be cool, don't know how it would work out in the long run.

Well we already have a stealth mode, we just need to improve it a bit.

The downside of stealth mode is that obviously, you go slow. And mercs have been locating spies fine just using their regular vision (and not the sound reticule). the stealth mode enhancement just prevents stupid mistakes that arise from sloppy controls.

My immediate thought was to not make the controls bad... But we're going to have to assume there will be bugs, and I think this will work good as a sort of backup.

Guys... As long as you press shift you will soft land, not to hard to do and FYI - If you hold the button down that draws your gun (E for me) after .5 seconds the gun comes out silently with no laser and does not ping the merc.

shift....like grab button shift?? I crouch as soon as I can and it usually doesn't make a noise. I didn't realize about the "shift" technique though. I'll give her a try.
