Now that the models are practically done. Perhaps it's a good time now to market and advertise our MOD on the Epic forums of UT3. It may not be the exact audience, but it would be the place where UT Modders are. Then we can try and establish a following with them and introduce them to something that's not just run and gun. I think it's something Project Stealth should look into to try and get more helpers with programming and such.

I'd also recommend that the team become a little more secretive. Not to be secretive, but to contain the whining and complaining that comes with having everything public. Goodkebab and Zed and probably others are in the field. Other than their talents, Project Stealth should use their expertise and knowledge to help maintain control. Not saying they aren't doing it, just saying in general. You guys have done excellent so far, so I guess what's been going on is still working.

You devs keep up the great work, as I appreciate all that you guys share with us as it is a previlage and not a right.

Anyway, I think I went on a tangent, and I think advertising in Epic forums or atleast becoming part of that community would be a good idea.

Already done a week or 2-3 ago: http://utforums.epicgames.com/showthread.php?t=578010

More secrative? We've just had a media stop for 4 weeks to bring you this outbreak of new stuff and you want MORE secrative things?  ;D

If it makes you happy, right :)

Sorry for bumping this, I'm just getting up with some lost days on the forum. I just want to say that more programmers isn't always better. You may think getting more will get things done quicker, but that's not always the case. Less is more.

Second, it's way easier to keep a good relationship with one programmer (two with our advisor - Overstatement -), then with 3 or more. Fortunatly, both me and MulleDK13 are in the same timezone, which can be a problem when you have more programmers spread all over the world. We can't say: "We want a programmer, but you have to be in GMT +1 timezone!".

Actually, I wasn't stating that we should still be looking for help. I was actually just saying that our Project Stealth community should become involved in the UT3 community.

Heres a suggestion, Lenard why dont you just go on the UT forums and try to find people from your area so then you can expand :D!

-Thanks Murdy for da Sig <3  xD

I dont wan't to expand, thats the whole idea. With Overstatement there are 3 people that can code, and frvge is going to join as well soon, and hes as Dutch as me :P. 4 is really the limit. Perhaps you didn't know, but the official Counter-strike is coded by 1 person in the beginning (example :P).

while i really dislike the turn this mod is taking i have some faith that the final outcome will be satisfactory ... but the merc model is hideous , well modeled for what it is but it really turns me off to playing the mod .

why not something more conventional and smooth ?

MulleDK19

If my heart ever heals, I will make sure it'll never break again.

reason3d

well i meant no offense by it , it is just taking a sci-fi turn when the original splinter cell was prototype based of current and actuual government agency gear , no space suits or spooky goggles there , just plain old functionality .

i am simply trying to suggest you take a more simplistic approach to the character models . noone will sit there for very long admiring some funky getup their character is wearing cuz in the real world those that are playing are trying to win . and yes i know you are making it for a small core of community members , but for the sake of those who adopt it as their game of choice i would hope they have the grace f seeing less , can i say "ridiculous" without being offensive ? well yes i can say it and if you take offense it is of no fault of mine , it is just funny looking thats all .

and yes i am a 3d and 2d artist geared towards realism so if you think my opinions suck and i should shove it i would retort that i have many years experience in actual research of such government ageny's gear and how they survive , and i can tell you that noone is going to "impress" their enemies by wering space suits .

to late for changing merc, and I am not going to throw away a few hundred hours of work to satisfy your personal taste.

The only thing not realistic on the merc is the helmet.  The rest of the design is in fact based on real research,  so I am already doubting your credibility.

Then again,  motion tracking and EMF are currently impossible even in the CT design.

The Spy design was never intended to be based on existing tech,  so if realism is you bent,  thats fine but not necessarily mine.

neth

This is not supposed to be realistic mod so flaming about it has no point.

reason3d

lol , you assume im flaming and that i am the only one who will have this opinion ?

if i can be as obtrusive as you , heres my response :

"dont blame me that you have poor taste and decided to go start to finish on a model that is well made , sure but very ., very ugly and obviously would never have a base in reality since all of the features are unneccesarily exaggerated "

hate to be the one to tell you , but you struck up a storm of self-defense for no reason , i simply criticized ... i thought you were a professional ?

neth

Reason youve got to understand that ppl (especially kebab) worked hard to finish this model. Because there arent too many ppl involved into this project it would be unwise to go back now when theres still so much to do.

Many ppl like it, some (like you) dont but you cant please everyone. Whats more it may be a little frustrating when the job is finished and someone comes and says that it sucks.
