Maybe if a spy runs through one they get painted (the military term not carpentry ;) ) by the laser so they show up on EMF vision no matter what, until they die? It could be combined with the current gadget or be a totally new one but it has the same tracking use as the trap just not as powerful (but of course lasts longer)

Gawain

can't see any improvements for the gameplay.

Succubus Dryad Of The Undying Comet

Isn't it how spytraps work now?
I see lots of ppl complaining that they had visions off when i see them on emf...

goodkebab

this is exactly how spy traps work now.

If you are lucky to survive long enough,  the trap lasts for a 1:30 or so.

Yeah this already is how it is.  It isn't that noticable so I don't blame you for not realizing that lol

Westfall

When you are spy-trapped you show up in EMF automatically?

Overstatement

Yes. I bet that answers a lot of questions, doesn't it?

Gawain

due to the lack of a complete tutorial most players don't know all the game mechanics. today i played with a friend whos better in ct than me but didn't know that you can bypass presence detectors (2nd spytrap function) while they make no sound. and i have to admit that i didn't use spytraps at all some months ago and didn't also know that a trapped spy glows in emf at that time.

Farley4Fan

Yeah I didn't notice that until a few months of experience with the game, about 2 years ago.  I played a lot of PT but I still don't know if you glow in EMF when you are tracked.  Is that a CT only deal or is that on PT also?

This is one of the many reasons UBI fails. They don't make it clear about all the important things in this game such as this and other unexplained events. Making all of these clear is important. And as discussed, pop-up hints during loading screens are probably the best way at getting these types of messages accross and not through tutorials. Knowing this makes you play better, but as Westfall proves, doesn't mean that you are lost without knowing the information.

Doesn't the manual explain this stuff?

This isn't why ubi fails, but it does fail lol  If you know what I mean.  The way they failed at assasisn's creed was where they showed too much and told everything and left NO suprises whatsoever.  I guess they fail by telling too much or not enough, they need to find the balance point.

I've never read the manual in depth-like I guess. I don't know if it states it.
