Anyone here that can help me out?
It works fine on X fire and everything but Chaos theory I can talk but other people talking only comes out through my speakers, I have tried everything, even the configuration utility, but that utility won't let me set my headset as the voice output device.
Why not use Xfire one? The voice on versus is shit and is not worth it, + the whole crap about "Listening your opposite team for tactics" is bull****. Xfire is a lot better.

well to you, but I feel its better tactically , its not about listening to your opponents communication,
its the principal of not being allowed to talk to your partner while your dead so that they have to think on thier own and not be guided like some puppet, it breaks the strategy of the game.

Agent@You are probably one of the 10 people in the whole wide world that does care for that.
Packerton@ Have you tried making your sensitivity higher in-game and also have you tried with different microphones?
In windows set up your recording device.

one should never assume. It only ends in disaster.
I also care about it, thats 2 already a helluva lot more then 10, I also hate EAX for that matter, super hearing gives the spies a huge disadvantage if you want to play stealthy but anyway thats not the point of this topic.
How do I set the mic as a recording device? In audio settings in the control panel I have it set as the input and output device for voice but that never worked.

I know, you can learn it from here: http://community.projectstealthgame.com/forums/index.php/topic,2840.0.html
It just shows how assuming can get you embarassed on the whole forum.
@Packerton, nothing you can do about EAX. Community accepts it, so either quit or be a man and deal with it :)
your so dumb , I didn't assume anything so i don't even know how that relates , Im sorry if your simple mind
can't retain information / decipher advice / old sayings =)
Why do you two always and up bitching each other and derailing a topic, both of you, shut the fuck up. It has happened in nearly every single topic of the last few weeks, god.
Stop being childish which only makes the two of you look like complete fools and stop creating bait for each other.
If only I could lock this topic...

Just because no one with moderator/admin rights have enought power to ban once or twice.
I hope there will be better moderating after release or I'm not gonna visit this forums anymore.
PS. If you are afraid to ban people then give me just rights to do it, I'm gonna put that forums on normal friendly and user-like way then.
I was going to say just that (sort of). We need a lucid, normal non-dev moderator with balls. That way it's not US banning or editing a topic, but the moderator. As I have a feeling currents mods are indeed afraid to get called "Ubi" or make enemies.
LoL if you really want it Lennard then Knooger is the right person. He would ban even me if I were bashy ;P
No, I love you :P But let's help that guy..

You have to open control panel - audio - and set up recording and playback device to your soundcard/Mic(if u have USB microphone)
Is your microphone working in Teamspeak/Xfire/Skype/another game? Maybe you have to enable it in your soundcard drivers ( probably placed in tray near clock ).

Its a USB Microphone, Logitech to be exact. I did set it as the voice input output device in my control panel (Windows XP) and i can't find any extra options anywhere like you mentioned.

ya you wouldn't hear me bickering with fools if they wouldn't start things /if I had the power of the ban hammer , there wouldn't rambling about hackers or spam accounts, most of em would be deleted in a second.
I am not the problem, I am the solution but you all fret it, and from day one I have always said it like it is, I don't care what race you are, what side of the tracks you come from, I will do what's right.
Consider the above statement my application.
Lol.
I'm lost, what's the current topic of this thread?
Mics, Moderators, or Agent and Dread fighting on what is the "standard" for a 6 year old game that was clearly not meant to be played for this long?

As you are the problem in this case and most of the time the laugh on the forum - no offense meant, it's just the case in most topics - people wouldn't be able to take you serious. I would reject your application.
I would rather put Knooger, Cronky or Spekkio in that position.
Cronky is a bit too soft, Spekkio is very offensive and talks crap about other countries without learning the history of them, Knooger is a lot more viable choice.

The voice quality in game is no better or worse than Xfire voice. You just have to make sure your audio quality in game is set to high. I have never had an instance in versus where I couldn't understand a teammate due to poor voice quality.
Dunno about now, but Xfire voice used to use excessive processing power and cause lag.

I'd do it, but I don't think I'd be very effective while out to sea with no interwebs.
Although it sounds like your motivation for appointing a mod is to shirk responsibility for poor moderation or whimsical use of the banhammer. Sorry, but you (meaning the PS team) are responsible for who you choose to enforce your forum rules. You may not physically press the ban button, but the mod is enforcing your site policy and so when he bans someone, it means you banned him, too.
I have to use in game voice because x fire voice in game kills my frame rate.
Not Voice just audio settings man.
Same place like on my screen.

It's too bad that a mod's job is to enforce site policy, not make you feel good or learn international history.
What kind of bollocks is that? My soundcard supports heavy EAX and no matter what I got in my Audio options, Xfire is crystal clear, and versus is just horrid oO
Still don't see why we don't have an everything goes subforum where Dread and Agent could work out their sexual tension towards each other.
It'd be a lot healthier for them to have an outlet for their urges instead of just getting a moderator to shout at them every time they bring it up.

On top of that, I find it a little funny that there
needs to be (multiple) moderators for the like, 10 people that post here frequently.
Has it really gotten that bad? (dumb question)
As for you pac...
I'm just going to suggest dumb stuff like make sure you have the most current drivers for your hardware. Try the headset on another computer. Make sure it doesn't have a volume/mute button that's all the way down/on.
yada yada yada I tore my computer apart when Portal 2 came out trying to figure out why my friend couldn't hear me. Turns out I had it muted. I've always made fun of people who do that... not anymore (as much).

In my opinion yes. Look at all the shit topics from the last few weeks. Then look at all the supposedly serious topics that got derailed after only like 3 replies. It might be the same persons who start derailing it or not, point is people actually bite and help derailing further which has annoyed me to no limits.
This forum is loose and we support that too, but things have gone out of control now. Off-topic stays in off-topic, keep your 4chan bullshit there, not in serious topics in the other sections.
Too true Lennard. Though I have to imagine some of it has to do with everyone just getting bored. We all come here (more or less) to see news about PS. Sure, we also like to participate in threads that have something going on in them, but mostly we all want to talk about PS when we get here. When there is months, or weeks, or whatever of no new content for us all to go, "It looks good but..." then we all have to do something crazy like... come up with other things to talk about. With people we don't rightly know. It gets boring.
You ever been in a room full of coworkers you know enough to remember their name, but not enough to strike up a worthwhile conversation? That's all of us. Some of us are the guy that starts doing racial jokes, some of us are the ones that keep talking about work, and others are the ones that just sit back and try to wait out the situation. Whichever one you think you are doesn't stop you from being stuck potentially making stupid small talk till someone trips onto their face and everyone turns into that person that goes, "Hey, remember when John tripped onto his face??"
I agree and you're all in your good right to do something in the absence of updates and topics, but please do so in off-topic. A community moderator is going to enforce that, by moving around topics, merging them.
By having someone else doing that for us (and not necessarily to run the ban-hammer as I don't think we will give that privilege to a moderator), we can focus on the important stuff: keeping PS running and at the same time the forum will be a nicer and safer place for new players/old vets.
Can we also do something about people always posting in Public Discussion of what the hell this project about?
People just go ahead and ask what is already there, you can even make it easier by blocking the goddamn Community button with a big ass arrow pointing to the "Media" section, and before they check all of that, then they can proceed to the forums?
As well as you guys have about 1700 people on this forum, and I am sure that's somehow uses bandwith to keep all of those people registered? Why not limit things to like, 10 days of being active and unless that person has a somekind of a note in their profile that they are away they can be excused?
I bet most of them are just bots... registered once and never logged on.
They should be deleted after X time. :-\

No you don't. The last few weeks the amount only got higher rather than get smaller or even a lot smaller.

You're exaggerating. Worse yet, you expect the mods to delete topics that you consider "dumb" or to stop threads from moving in a direction that you don't like. That is not their purpose. Their purpose is to make sure that people follow the site rules, and there's no rule against creating topics that are distasteful to LennardF1989.
The banal topics and bantering between AgentX and DreadStunLock are exacerbated by the fact that there aren't many other posters, and there really isn't much to talk about that hasn't already been discussed to death -- this game has been in the making for over 5 years. The only thing left to do is for people to grovel at new models/animations, but even that gets old. If the forum were more active or had more to talk about, you probably wouldn't even notice those two and their alleged sexual tension.
