yeah, you've been proven wrong. there is no fucking need for more speeds unless a more sophisticated sound system get's integrated. and i don't give a crap if you think that the disk topic has been discussed enough; i think it hasn't because it's a really important topic and the devs didn't post anything about it.

Lol, on what matter was I proven wrong? - was my question.  How do you suggest a slow climb move to be implemented then?

1 button to go into slow mode, then all animations that follow that go slowly.  That sounds like a good solution.  Hopefully that is possible.

There is no need for a lot of things in this game, they just add choice.  A gradient of speeds just makes it easier to control the spy.  Go try it.  Instead of tapping the W button and inching your way to the desired point (catches a lot of attention due to the constant jerking movement of the spy [not meant to be dirty lol])  Slowly moving at a constant height catches a lot less attention.

Gawain

a gradient of speeds doesn't make controlling the spy easier once you're beyond the toal noob phase.

Precisely. Just drop it already, no point arguing about this any further.

Instead of jerking the spy (lol) to get to a precise spot, you can slowly ease him into a position without drawing so much attention.  But whatever, you guys won't understand until you've actually tried it.  Period.

I suggested this, anyone want to comment?

That sounds just like we have it now in CT SvM.

It is.

Wait, what?  You must have misunderstood me.  There is no slow mode button that slows down the animations of climbing.

haha .. right, but that's Ubi's failure. There is a slow mode button for everything else.

Farley4Fan

Well of course  :D  Just make the slow mode button work for climbing too.  Problem solved.

Umm...thats been discussed. This just turned into a "duh" moment for Papa.

Farley4Fan

Then why was it brought up in this thread again?  And I don't remember the discussion.  Can't believe I forgot.  I remember something Frvge suggested using the mouse wheel, was that it?

o rly?
we had this discussion before and this solution is so obvious that you should stop to hijack this thread with this bs. kkthxbai

Slow climb will help, but honestly I don't think it will completely fix the problem. Stealthing with a disc is still almost impossible going super slow, because the merc knows exactly where you're going. And that pretty much sucks. I'd consider doing something more extreme. Maybe nerfing the disc radar to either a PD or at least the PT radar that didn't show spy elevation. But I think the disc should disable the SS or something as a draw back. Sort of like some CTF style games where you can't shoot anyone when you're carrying the flag. That'd make disc drop off less of an aggro run around thing and more of a stealth game.

Kurbutti

The disk thing will be just fine when there is a realistic possibility of actually sneaking out with it. Yes, the mercs do know where spies are headed, but they don't know how, plus they can't effectively cover every entrance. Means they gotta have to patrol, which makes them more vulnerable.
