the only real way to deal with one player being afk for more than some seconds is returning to lobby and restarting the whole game, which i'd call a stronger break in the gameflow than just freezing the game.

I agree with its a game, plus its only 10min, let the machine get the phone, if u have to pee hold it.  I've only ever paused WC3 once to pee and that was cause i played 3 1v1 games (each over an hour long in a row) and it was the tie breaker.  I said brb i have to pee, and was gone for maybe 30 sec.

Been elaborated.  For on online game there is no such thing as taking a pause, that's why Xbox LIVE is called Xbox LIVE.  It's an online LIVE game, no breaks.  Once you ready up you say you are committed to those 12 minutes of gametime.  If you can't say you are committed then don't ready up.  Take a piss before gametime to avoid this.

No, it IS the same deal.  Just in a different format.  It may not restart the game but you don't know when that guy is coming back, if he ever does.  Why give it to those guys who are dumb enough to ready up with a full bladder?  Makes no sense.

There's plenty of games with a pause feature. Xbox live has nothing to do with PS. Unexpected things happen.

Everyone won't vote no just because you do it. And while I don't want to argue about what relationship YOU have to YOUR friends, even if someone doesn't care about wins/losses, that doesn't mean they would want to have a round ruined.

To sum up: If you don't like it, vote no, then those who want to vote yes will vote yes. You are using extreme examples and theorycraft to prove your point, but you don't see it from the other side of the fence.

If I don't want to pause and I vote no, then it will never fucking happen.  1 person votes no and the game doesn't pause.  Honestly, how many times do you think will everyone agree to it?  The only times where I can see this ever happening is on a friendly game where everyone knows eachother, as I've said before, and who gives a shit who wins those games?!

As usual, your responses were: "just say no"  If I just say no, as well as all the other nay sayers, this will never ever happen.  That would make this completely useless and not worth the effort to put in.

It has a lot to do with Xbox live, or any online gaming system for that matter.  It's LIVE, it's happening, you can't just pause it.  The only times where anyone should be able to pause a game is on single player.  This just completely ruins flow (yeah, just say no right?  Wrong.  If that's the case this feature is useless)

My solution, if everyone wants this sooo bad (which they don't), make it so each team has a 15 second timeout - with a majority vote of course (at least 3/4).  This would give them a quick oppurtunity to take a piss/talk about strategy w/ teammate/answer the phone or door/save their fat mom from the burning house lmao/whatever the hell they didn't make sure they had taken care of before the game started.  It's really simple, if you have something to take care of in the next 12 minutes of gametime, DON'T READY UP.

Otherwise, hide your fucking body in your spawn point.  If it's near the end of the game and you have to do something, well it's near the end of the game.  It can wait 1 minute.

Well I must say "I agree", but the it can't be bad to have this option availaible, but the time the Dev Team could spend on this feature could be spend on something else that is way more important lol.

Your post is valuable if we can affirm that PAUSING the game for all the players only because one of the player think he has the right to when he already Engaged himself by "readying up" makes sense. If it makes sense, than we should think aobut having this Feature and have the Dev Team working on it.

Yes, having the option to vote for pause can be a good idea, but it isn't if you already engage yourself to complete the game before it starts.

Would you see your favorite Hockey or Football player stopping his match because he got a headaches or need to piss? The answer is probably no, he has no right to... do your stuff before starting your match and do not even think to penalize everyone else. This makes sense <<<

As I said before, you probably already have the opporunity to use the "Talk to all" fonctionality to ask if you can all pause the game. If there is a time delay. I hope you weren't thinking to pass more than one or two minutes off your computer, because if you were thinking about that... than you are seriously wasting our time for your own good.

The "Ready up" option and the "talk to all" are already there to prevent this problematic situation.
