:o im sorry but i cant stop posting i just have all these sick ideas exploding in my brain like its on fire!!  :o

    lol just kidding

ok this is my idea:

alternate aiming system on shocker gun, it could be either iron sight or red dot sight (like the one from call of duty 4)

so lets say ur spy and you press E you go into quick weapon draw with or without laser depending on how u whish, but if u do a quick double E tap like   'E+E'
your spy goes into a iron sight vision or red dogt sight vision, the advantage would be better accuracy in absense of laser but the disadvantage would be that it is like a first person view perspective.

i honestly think its awesome cause its something that dosent do any bad to the game, only helps!

You generally dont need to aim to shock the Merc. Unless you want to target a Headshot.
So it's original but not really needed IMO.

I personally like the classic style and this would be pretty low on the dev's to do list, if it were accepted.  I'd like to have a few styles to choose from for the sake of having choices, but still.

I _could_ be wrong, but if enough people like this idea it should be pretty piss to implement code wise, all you're doing is moving the camera to a different position (and a few other bits of course) but essentially it's the same things as moving to over-shoulder. But as Fridge said, there's not really any purpose, it's easy enough to aim as it is.

Cyntrox

I wouldn't mind turning off the laser activated iron sights.

Perhaps we could expand this idea a bit.

When the sticky shocker is drawn, hitting the "zoom" key would go into  a "guncam" mode, which allows you to score precise hits very much like the merc rifle does, on the expense of tunnel vision and loss of perception. This would make it generally easier to hit small targets from afar, such as mines, cameras, lasers et cetera. On the other hand, this could make tagging mercs with bullets slightly less painful without shock-stabilizing them first.

Give spy binoculars a purpose.

that is exactly where i got this idea from, i was having a hard time hitting the mine the merc planted during the short period of time in which he walked by it and i shocked him.

i missed the mine even with the lame ass huge laser dot that moves in very choppy way. i like the laser but i just think that at long distances the laser isnt precise because it starts like skipping various pixels. i dont know how to describe this, sorry.

but hopefully u guys know what im talking about.

its not a weapon attachment or a choice at all

it is simply a change of camera perspective that will enable you to hit that far away target right were u want to.

MR.Mic

This idea is retarded, because the spy should only be able to aim with something the merc can see.

As long as the dot is still visible for the Merc, and only more stable / accurate to manouver, it's fine with me.

Roberto1223

well if u really want it to be visible then a solution could be that mercs can see a red dot or whatever either in the target or in the spy gun

but the main thing that this idea solves is accuracy.

all im asking for is accuracy.

i dont think this idea is retarded, i think that aiming for a target without a reliable laser is retarded.
or aiming with out a freakin laser at all and without an iron sight of some kind is even more retarded.

MrSneaky08

Or how about they just keep it the same because it was fine in CT and PT. The ability to toggle the laser on/off worked fine, i dont know why they would change it.

Exactly.
If it's not broken, why fix it?

Adding shit just for the cool factor is a good way to quickly ruin a game.

Fuck you Ion.  Everyone has been little bitches lately.  It wouldn't even be adding anything, it would be changing something, (nothing gameplay oriented), for the sake of coolness.  I've seen a major loss of logic from a lot of people.  Really surprising to be honest.

This idea, if it doesn't give you a choice of perspective, I don't like.  Let's keep on topic.
