They recently launched a new site for SC:C, displaying some mysterical text: http://splintercell.uk.ubi.com/conviction/

According to the dutch story, it seems Sam returns to E3 finding out everything is not the same anymore, bosses are in a political battle and he decides to leave.

I think the change of the summary can conclude they actually restarted SC:C from scratch, the voice of Michael Ironside confirms that, as one of the reasons he didn't want to work along was because of the fans not agreeing with Ubisoft (and money :P).

Yeah I got this in an email too, you can find it on this site: http://www.manofconviction.com/uk/

Two sections of the site are restricted until the 20th of May, and then the 28th.

Is that just referring to the topic here or something more :P.

that's the referral. Notice the &ref= in the URL. Basically to track where visitors are coming from.

That's one nice PR approach they're doing, though.

It's their simple ARG scheme. Augmented Reality game or something.

The reason it works, is because they haven't released anything yet, and they have a good brand. And money.

In the second teaser which was released on the 20th May, they zoomed in to Washington DC, the place were the last mission of Splinter Cell Essentials took place, next and final teaser's on 28th May.

wasn't it already well known that there will be missions in DC?  Wasn't the only gameplay released of a mission in DC?

Third/Final teaser released on the website, just more of the same to be honest, E3 should bring more details.

Not that it matters but it opens up differently in different time zones.  For whatever reason.  Going to check it out now.

What the hell.  Why should we care WHERE the game takes place?  We just want to see the game.

SEMI Edit:

I just realized that it zoomed into the area that E3 will take place at this year.  Obvious confirmation that Conviction will be at E3.  Very cool trailer actually.  Pretty creative.  Now then, what they show at E3 better not be that same garbage shown years ago.  Though I wouldn't mind a little social stealth as long as at least half of the game's gameplay revolves around the classic SC stealth we all know and love.  I bet some gameplay will be shown during M$ press conference, so wait till monday.  I'm crossing my fingers that the rumors (they sound credible) about Ubi scrapping a lot of conviction and doing it over are true.

The storyline has actually changed from fugitive (as how DA ends) into this:

Sam finds out that Anna Grimsdottir and a girlfriend of his are in danger. Sam rejoins Third Echelon (probably after what happened in DA), but notices that 3E is not what it used to be. Sam receives bad briefings and wrong equipment most of the time. Besides that, the bosses of 3E (probably Lambert) are having political issues and desperately try to grasp the power. Sam leaves and becomes a fugitive (again?).
