I do too. I can't play single player if there is no story behind. It' just stupid. Why should you play Single player then.

I can't play Tetris or any old game unless it has the barest of Stories. Pac-Man pushes it for me cause nothing ever changes, but Donkey Kong was the bee's knees.

Don't really care if the story is, "That guy diddled your sister, time to fight", as long as there is some kind of reason.

Tetris, Pacman are simple repetetive games, they don't require the story, the same as logical games, or racing games. The rest must have a story behind (personal opinion ;) )

Played all of those except Planscape. Fallout is one of my top games of all time... Even IF every time I play it I play the same exact character.

Those games are probably a big reason why I can't play games without stories.

Who cares about the storyline in Fallout? It's just go find the plot item, then go kill the bad guys. Most of the fun is in the towns completely unconnected to the story tbh.

Yeah the story in fallout is almost arbitrary.  The real story for me was meeting all the characters and killing the ones I did not like.
