This is why  I am saying REMAKE the maps with new designs as well.  All the maps I listed, I like the feel of them, I just didn't like either the atmosphere or level design including warehouse.  If you remade warehouse with a different design, then it would be a cool map.

And could someone tell me why the hell it is more superior on PC than on console.  They are completely the same game minus a map editor and different controls.  And I always hear about issues on pc rather than on console versions.

And yes, I believe all the maps had great potential.  ( KEYWORDS - HAD POTENTIAL )  And Ubisoft executed them wrong.  I do not like deftech, warehouse right now at all.  But if we redid them with different designs, it would be a lot better.  The maps I listed had great inspiration but I don't think they were great at all.  We should take that inspiration and make the maps better.  I agree with all of what you guys said, but I think you misunderstood me.

The maps that should return with same designs are:  Orphanage, Factory.

The e-penis thing, totally random.

Remaking a map with a different design is like making a new map. So, that renders this thread pointless. Plus, I felt the same in clubhouse as I did in aquarius. That means, that even though they are different maps, have the same feel, which shouldn't really happen in a game like this. Every map should be unique, so we should make all new maps in my opinion.

The e-penis thing was said because this is a totally pointless thread. Remaking maps with different level design and different atmosphere equals different map.

Nuff said.

I meant taking the inspiration of the maps, and making them how they should have been.  Say Warehouse was a more open map with the same atmosphere, all rooms are open at all times, make a better walkway or catwalk, make it 3 levels high, make the conveyor belt move, and it looks better.  Take Deftech, make the inside a lot more open and less booby trapped then it was, put objectives outside as well, and make it look better.  Take Club House, make it darker, make it have more passageways, and maybe redo the courtyard part with more foliage and a couple pathways.  See what I mean by inspiration?  I mean take the whole idea of the map, but take the bad parts out and add better features.  I do think that Orphanage and Factory were good as they were and should just be updated with better graphics and textures.

It isn't remaking the maps, it is redoing them.

I think that the maps that should return with new textures/ graphics/ designs are:

Warehouse -  Of course this is a map that everyone played all the time, but it got repetitive for me for a few reasons ( boxes all look the same, too many boxes )  I think with new lighting, better textures, and a bigger variety of objects this map would be a lot better.

Aquarius - This is the map that I loved to go completely unnoticed in.  It had multiple pathways, and a lot of cool rooms and features.

Club House - With a darker atmosphere I think it would be a great map.

Deftech Belew -  This map had great potential, however with repeating boxes and containers, it got boring to look at.  The way this map flows is great.  I love how you can easily go from inside to outside while staying hidden.

Which version of Splinter Cell have YOU been playing?!

Yeah.

Remaking with new designs is redoing.  Remaking is just making it look better and porting it.

Redo - Change map a lot and make it look better.

Remake - Make it look better and port it.

Ever heard of a movie remake, what they do is make it look better and use the same plot of the movie.  This applies to video games as well as maps within them.  Remakes include zero changing, while redoing them changes it and updates it as well.  You see the difference?  My previous posts make sense.

And if you guys can't go unnoticed in Aquarius, and you can't see that there are multiple pathways, then that is your fault.  I can recall MANY times where I took all three objectives and finished the game with all 4 lives, completely unnoticed.  Am I the only one able to do that?  I hope not...

Xbox must have major noobs then, because going unnoticed on pc is incredibly hard. The fact that you can cover every objective with just 2 people should say something.

PC > Xbox

Farley4Fan

You don't hack all at once.  You hack some, leave and hide, come back for more, and repeat.  And yes, consoles do have a LOT of little kiddish noobs who don't even know how to jump, but there are also a lot of good players on it as well.  And sorry people if I didn't word what I meant well enough for you to understand what I exactly what I meant by it.

Aquarius? Are you kidding me?

I play on xbox and no you can't go unnoticed on aqua unless your opponent is a super newb who doesn't even know the map. Against a decent player, you will get noticed and you'll realize that aqua isn't a stealth map, at all.

We should play 1on1 sometime on Aqua, I seriously doubt you can even sneak by *one* competent merc, let alone two.

Gawain

i want as much unique AND balanced maps as possible. so i'd suggest remaking the good ct and pt maps with the little changes spekkio suggested, but also making completely new official ones which should come first.

papa skull, you have no idea what you're talking about. how about you get scct for pc and play some hundred hours? it's still a game worth playing, and since you are a n00b you won't get bored for a long time. besides, you would get to know some of the people here ingame and learn to master the pc controls which you will need for ps.
ps: i didn't write this to start a flame war...

Farley4Fan

Sorry Gawain I ain't a noob to CT.  I am a noob to PC version because I haven't played it.  So, the same goes for you when I say you are a noob to CT xbox version.  And btw you can plug in an xbox 360 controller to PC, therefore I wouldn't be a noob to the controls anyways.

And btw, it is VERY possible to go unnoticed in CT including competent mercs in Aquarius.  You just have your partner work with you, make distractions, and locate mercs and avoid them.  You just have to get to know them I guess.  I will admit that I haven't been playing the game as much as I did lately but still, that doesn't mean I am a noob.

Succubus Dryad Of The Undying Comet

On PC this is impossible, since the mercs have MT, EMF and the reticule. AND they can do a 180 anytime they want really, since the mouse can move faster or slower, wile the joystick always moves at the same speed.

And how are you going to avoid mercs in Greek? like go back, hide in the vents and wait till they go away?
You'd lose much time doing that, because the mercs have only  to camp at pirates and greek - if you go for the disks and run (say no time left and youre alone), they will get you before you say "cheater", and the game will be over, and if you go for tech they get 1 snipe ate the bomb and go back to their place. Sneaking through can't be done on aqua - you can get to the hacks sneaking, but you will have a hell lot of time escaping (or trying to neck).

Farley4Fan

Believe it or not, using your teammate helps you stay unnoticed.  To answer the question about staying hidden in Greek:  The way you do it is have your teammate standby at the coop move in the back near the disc drop.  Put spy bullets all around, on all entrances.  As soon as you see a spy bullet pick up a merc, you run back and do the coop move and hide in the rafters till they leave, or you exit through the tech room vents.  From there you can procede to any other objective, and have your partner stay and hack greek while you do something else.  All it takes is strategy, and I use the same strategy everytime I play Aqua.

Succubus Dryad Of The Undying Comet

sure, but your mate will get killed at the coop (nade) btw - so you stay alone up there (if you manage to stay alive - dodge nades again).
PC is way harder for spies than the xbox version, mostly because of the classic fps controls for the mercs, and the mouse.

Farley4Fan

Ok, well I understand that.  Back to returning map appearances.
