Don't you think that the lead developer of Project Stealth has had some communication with the company that is trying to sue him/shut down his project?  He had to be in communication with them, right Kebab?  Anyways, I'm sure there are some guys at Ubi that have heard of PS and realized that there are some people who'd welcome another SvM.  Probably not the majority of them, obviously.

If they talked about intellectual property, the only ones concerned are the bosses. Any other employees will not be advertise of this issue - no reason.

Ubisoft wouldn't be that much concerned about a "splinter cell" similar or rival if their actual Splinter Cell just move on in term of design and is way more concerned about AI interactivity than hiding in the shadows.

Keep that in mind, because theorically it should also affect the multiplayer. Unfortunately there are things I know that I can't discuss about.

The Only way the PS could worry Ubi is if it was copying SC (what isn't the case) or if it was the only good multiplayer style that suit to Splinter Cell [what would mean that if COnviction is using a different multiplayer style than CT it could be the wrong way].

That's what I'm saying.  Say this mod is successful (which it should be), and plenty of people play it online.  Don't you think Ubi is gonna go: "Damn, we let something great slip away.  Should we try and bring it back ourselves?"  It's gonna make them want to make it again I bet, unless their garbage crowd multiplayer is successful.  ::)

Btw, who knows how far Conviction got pushed back?  I heard this March, but it's past march obviously, and then I heard October.  Not sure.

Don't know  ::)

By the fact they have all the intellectual right on PT and CT, thay can go back with this style anytime, but when you are working for the same damn game all over and over again, you need some change sometimes. I guess this is why thay changed the forumla for Conviction, but also for another reason... but it's too much secret LOL - kidding

You know, one of the major problem is that the Devs listen sometimes too much the Marketing Stats guys instead of their Designers. So when it comes to Game Design, it can easily messed up many projects.

A few people can't difference Great Popularity (=)caused by "Great Publicity", "Great Reknowned Franchise [fan base]" or a "Great Product". This is a huge problem... statistics can't show that, the Designers can.

Pretty sure kebab wasn't getting sued for anything. He was put on notice for copyright infringement, which if was true he would have been in a heap of trouble. Even then, I don't even believe he would have been put on notice because copying game styles is considered Fair Use. There was never a case against them, but the mods on the UBI forums tried to make it a big deal because the game wasn't  ZOMG CONVICTIONS!!!

There are a lot of holes and shit in copyright. This site I have found to be excellent if you actually have real questions about it. Use it for personal things as well.

You know what? I would totally love if Ubisoft could learn something from PS. To be honest, I love Ubisoft as much as I hate it, what results in a complete duality. They made incredible stuff during the past year as much as they took many bad decisions that can be frustrating for many players and fans.

AC - so much repetitive

Splinter Cell DA - far away from PT essence

Rainbow Six Vegas - 3rd person breaking up what R6 means, fear and play with your life, take out your head to spot the enemy and risk your life to be kill for that.

...

I wanna work on PS because I believe PT & CT were the real essence compared to DA and DA is a regression or just... not in the right path. I wanna change this mistake. PS has the potential for that.

The only thing that could stop me to work on PS are: not being allowed to or... getting an overdose of stealth action if I also work for Eidos-Montreal in two weeks.

I don't really understand why the whole community was againt DA, but, I actually liked the game. Iif you see through the massive amount of bugs, it was actually an awesome game with an awesome story. I even made a app or two for it (MySCDACleaner and MySCDATweaker - never released, partly in MySCDACleaner -).

Seriously, DA was cool, but... it wasn't the same Essence. In PT and CT, the spies were more agressive and it was what I liked. I do not see the spy as being inferior or having to flee. I see them as having a different play style, that's it.

R6V is first person, only when covering do you go into 3rd person, which isn't really third person because you have limited camera movement.

Please, let me help you with your English Hyrage. If you are going to be very active on the forums (with these very heated discussions, LMAO), then make sure everyone can properly understand what you mean ^^.

LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
not so sure about this one  ;D, at least...
my friend is working on this game and he never heard of PS before until I told/showed him what it was. Which means, if PS was such promising and disturbing... the word should have been spread among the team, but this isn't the case. They aren't that much preoccupied by their customers as I can see or even the Splinter Cell or Stealth  Action fans.

I do not see any reason to have Conviction employees interested in PS if both games are totally different and using totally two different stealth approaches.

But who knows, maybe there is more people than I know that knows about PS at Ubisoft... more than 1500 employess is a lot of people.

I was talking by pm with Orph3O on the SC forums,  who is a developer at UBI .   I showed him some earlier works of PS.  I mistook him for another french developer who worked on DA.

Of course,  the only people that would take us seriously about copyrights is the legal team,  which DID have a look at us.   The standard procedure would be to give us a cease and desist letter....but we clearly are not copying any IP....and will not even be copying the names of gadgets.

It's cool to see that a Dev Team guy was interested in PS. Maybe one of the Designers
Huge thx Lennard for the post.
