Where's the deadline? I'll let you know when we find it.
You guys should set one, is what I'm saying. Something to work toward.
Stop being a smart ass.

And I care because?

If you keep acting like some snob you'll lose numbers to your precious 3 year long mod. People don't like to work with dickheads, which is all you've ever given as an impression. I believe the game continues to get delayed and people leave the team because they listen to what you have to say and take off...hell, I wouldn't want to deal with you either.

To the rest of the PS team, really....How do you put up with this? Especially if you try to promote? I hope you learn from this experience Lennard, because in real life people don't like to deal with your attitude.

Okay, Comic... so you read my post.
But you sure as hell didn't understand it.

And Lennard, you could SAY that, but that's not a deadline, is it? A deadline is a set goal for the team to work toward. Give everyone a little motivation to get things moving a little quicker.

Not all deadlines can be met of course (look at Gran Turismo 5), but even if you can't quite meet the deadline set, if there's enough media releases to keep the people interested, then they'll be willing to wait without forgetting about the whole project.

Where's the deadline? I'll let you know when we find it.

So you mean you won't have a deadline because you've been leading people on for almost 3 years now? The whole group's "when it's done" mentality  is just poor attitude. I would love to see you act like that to people who contract you out...if ever.

I really hope this game works out for you guys in every way, but for some reason I find myself wanting you to fold with how I've seen the progress over the 3 years. The only competent members of the team are Mic, kebab, and frvge (who is only the promoter, and a fine promoter/manager at that). I actually am curious as to how they stuck around all this time.

neth

I agree with Westfall, we've been around for a few years and you guys keep showing us that we don't mean much and that basically we should be grateful that you sometimes speak to us.

I don't want to judge anyone but if you make a mod for 3 years and you're not even close to beta you're either lazy or you don't care anymore.

frvge

frvge to the rescue...

Ahum. It's easy for anyone on the team to give out deadlines, but because it's still a team effort, it's not very smart to do. As you have seen with the GamesCom problem (I said we'd have something playable, maybe even beta, around October 2009), those things are just wrong. People get work, people get a new girlfriend on top of their work, people get kids that take up time... and people get demotivated and leave, or people give personal projects or friendships/hobbies or w/e a higher priority. Happens all the time.

This means there are plenty of stalls during development. We even had people leave because they came in during a stall and then they left because there wasn't much progress at that time, which messed up the overall progress even more... That's one of the reasons why we only have Lakehouse now, instead of the 3-4 planned maps.

If we look at the future, it's a lot brighter. Summer is near, which means the code department can get going again. The latest UDK has Scaleform as middleware, which means HUDs and menus can be implemented in Flash, and Merc Animator comicsserg has been pumping out a lot of first-person Merc animations. We were really behind on that part, but now the todo-list is green for a lot of items.
In the meantime, we've been filling some other stuff that isn't really important, but still a nice-to-have gimmick. And I'm working on a new site full of cool things.

I hope this clears some things up.

Unofficial promoter  haii :D , who everyone fails to mention  <- gg.  :( .  Well lets just say when the recession hit i was out of a job for a year and in that entire year I scratched and clawed to find people of the old community as well as try to find talent to help push things along :/ , Forums , old xfire contacts you name it, and even told the vast majority of you  that are on here and more about this but none the less im grateful to frvge first telling me about it but still kinda disappointed that im not recognized =/ just because i may have some disagreements with certain people , you know who you are.

-Thanks Murdy for da Sig <3  xD

1. I agree with the statement, but may I ask, now that we're talking feedback anyway, why I give you that impression, because I beg to differ.

2. I am not in charge on how the game becomes in the end, that's MR.Mics and Goodkebabs task. I am merely an advisor on what is possible and what the best approach would be. Hence why it's also not my task to promote, I simply throw my opinions into the open in the hope it's picked up and discussed about when I feel it fits the topic. Besides that, I program, the end.

3. I'm under the impression you can't judge someone's attitude from a forum. It's about competence. Actually, I think everyone on this forum is a dickhead, besides the ones I work closely with on a daily basis. Some even rise above the point of being a dickhead. But that doesn't say anything on how they are in real life (besides Agent, whoes just crazy :P).

My point is, you can't judge someone's attitude from forum posts, besides of those you work with on a daily basis. Heck, I only know a few forum members more or less personally, whereas of the rest I know only the username.

Also, I didn't really understood that out of his reply. Then again, I'm not under the impression I am unfriendly, whereas Westfall pronounces as if every post I write is dripping of unfriendliness and projected that opinion on the other forum members and the PS devs.

Note that I can life with the fact people don't like me, it happens, I also know people I rather don't ever speak to. It's just that his post was not very detailed on how and why I gave him that impression, which resulted in it being rather insulting. So I felt right about it to make it discussable. So Westfall, if you ever feel like giving me proper feedback, be free to PM me  :-*
