Hi, I would like to ask if there will be such thing as Ranking system in Project Stealth? Because most of the time I see people in Chaos Theory playing normal games without ranking system, and I was thinking...
Why Ubisoft did that? Why not just leave only Rank Gameplay so that everyone gets tracked on their performance?

Or am I missing the picture?

Thx for explaining

Ranking means grinding/cheating/being obsessed over points and that leads to unfriendly games.

Statistics are IMO fine.

I hate in Bad Company 2 when someone revives you in the middle of an orgy battle so that he can get some revive points and you die again instantly.

There was no point to the ranking system after you unlocked all the items.  So if there are not going to be any unlockable items through a proposed ranking system then it will be useless.  The only acceptable things to be unlockable, imo, would be skins for characters/weapons.  That would be great to shoot a rubber ducky instead of a grenade or dress like spider man right?  Nah never mind.

YESSS!!!  ;D ;D ;D  This is clearly the missing piece to the game.

If I can remember right, we had this conversation before in a previous thread.  Rankings just aren't good for games like this because people switch their motives rather than enjoying good gameplay.  Stats and maybe achievements are fine, but nothing on the theme of rankings or unlockables.  Skins could be reasonable but nothing that would change the game's style.

Unlockable shit in multiplayer sucks, it just means people make servers with their friends and farm points on each other. No real point making skins unlockable, anyway. If someone wants to look like a catgirl, why not just let them from the start of the game? No need to make people work for that sorta stuff.

Farley4Fan

If there are people out there who would make servers to farm points to unlock skins then they we are better off with them not playing with us anyways.

Right?

If there will be some sort of unlockable gear then I don't see a problem with skins.  I don't know how Kebab and Co would feel about making extra skins since they put so much work/time/effort into designing just that one spy.  Maybe extra skins would make the default skin less of an icon.  Maybe not.  But if they want to make extra skins for us to unlock then I don't have a problem.

only because
- cheating was easy
- most folks played with several smurf accounts
- bugs often decided the outcome of a game

if you create a fair environment without all that bullshit and anonymity, ranked games rock for matchmaking and motivation.

I just thought, it would be easier for players to see their rank, you know currently mostly people use is:

Noob - Low, Med, High

Med/Medium Low, Med, High

Pro Low, Med, High

Knooger Low, Med, High (Just kidding)

VaNilla

How do you go about telling somebody how good they are? I think names for statistics are fine, but if I were a spy who went for objectives and sneaked around the mercs as much as possible, would my statistics say I'm a noob for avoiding neck grabs?

DreadStunLock

Why neckgrabs? neckgrabs should be the last on resort on Story....I mean

Why not make the system rank you by the amount of games you won and ratio it by the amount you lost and against what rank your enemies were...

For example if you are in a match with a person who just started and you just started too, you win you get a higher bonus, if you are ranked as a high med or so, and you win against a noob, you get absolutely nothing?

Aswell as, they could make it by the total amount of damage you took, how much damage or deaths you got from a mine...

How many mines you disarmed or blown up, (Stealth Bonus), How many kills/damage you made by shooting a mine and killing a merc?

There could just be simple modifications to the current skin without making entirely new ones.  Maybe allow the spy to change the color of the goggles and glowing green stuff to other colors.  Same idea with the merc.  That way it doesn't waste precious time making new skins but it is still a little different.

It's also would be nice to give such minor changes because you would be able to distinguish who is who...

Although maybe not cause then the weak ones will be targeted the most.. :S, but I don't think that will be a problem since you will not be able to see their goggle colour fast enough, since you will need to land a headshot and since their head is always on the move it will be difficult.

But yeah changing goggle colour would be really great.

Also for the neckgrab achievement and the fact that some idiots would charge onto a merc and end up killing himself, that only going to be his fault and it will not affect the gameplay at all, it just shows how stupid people can get and it will teach them of how to control themselves..
