By the way Pusianka you did state in one of your posts "Create yourself, and then only use it for myself" now at first I thought what was the point? Self-education? Maybe....Out of boredom? I smell fish...For friends? AHA! Publicz! But seriously why would you even want to mod it?

Because devs would have less to do? Isn't it obvious?

And you really think that you would have something to offer? Something that will "MAKE THAT PLACE" less pressurising for developers?

Pusianka you really need to check other developers work, because I think you underestimate the quality that Project Stealth requires, and not to offend anyone?

But I think if a casual person who just gets 3DS MAX/Maya/Photoshop/Zbrush for free and plays around with it and gets the basic stuff in a week, and all of a sudden decides and thinks he can apply to be a 3D modeller/Animator/Scripter/Artist and The Project Stealth developers would accept them? What kind of reputation would that give them?

For the record, we always welcome juniors with reasonable experience, you don't have to be a pro with industry experience.

I wouldnt dare to say that, but the spy model alone is 800 hours of work, which in terms of hourly salary of 15 euro's would mean it costs about 12000 euro's, if not double (because 15 euro is really the lowest salary a modeller would get).

We all do this for free and therefor have even more rights to protect our intellectual property in any way possible. If not allowing modding helps with that, so be it.

So that really clears up a lot, this is almost the same as the one time I was so bored I was checking every "Join us" posts and saw one of the amateur--ish 3D Models and wanted to get accepted but you declined because his standard was too low, so I think this is the point where Modding and the fact that 1 model costs over 20,000$/EU makes a lot of sense to me.

Juniors? What you mean by that, talk to me Lennard, what Juniors? What experience are we talking? How high standard? What!? WHAT?! WHAT!? SPEAK TO ME GIVE ME THE WHOLE SIT REP!!!....Please :)

I'd say a lot more than 5k ;).

Besides, Kismet and Matinee are powerful enough to do skydiving. Just flip the Spy in his falling animation. Should be possible. Animate the various parts of the parachute in Matinee, then combine it. Won't look great, but it resembles skydiving. And if you ask nicely, we might even make a skydiving-ish animation. We're just so nice (and comicsserg being so awesomely good)

A junior is someone who never did work profesionally but still has good and extensive portfolio showing more than just guns or stools. Among the standards would be proper UV maps, generating good normal maps with low/high resolution models, being able to make textures and good use of edge loop and all those other techniques which simply tell how good you are with a tool. Better yet, being able to determine wheter the number of polys is too high or too low and defend that choice.

Basically what I meant was, By making everything yourself for free, and allowing people to mod and draw dicks on spies faces would be really hurting.

Ekhem... this is just so... ok I ll keep my way of thinking ON topic.

Now to do something for the PS you need to get into the team. You get into the team and yet you still can't do what you want becuase you have to do what the team tells you to do since its first on the list of things TO DO.
Devs team has to concentrate on main things first... always.

When the BETA is out, they will first fix the bugs then start implementing new stuff. SO why not make it so that someone who made an animation that really can be used and is not in the team can't implement it? whats so wrong about it? IT'S not stealing damn it! This person just added a new feature in and devs can take it for the PS. Honestly I don't see it as a problem. You feel worse when someone is trying to offer you some help in project? It's always your choice to download it? Players also see the quality of the made thing so if it's crappy they won't take it jsut like Devs!

If you have a good idea for an animation AND you have the skills, use a test-rig (like a puppet) and then animate it. If it's good enough, you might get into the team (if you want to help). Or we might supply you with the actual rigs so you can tweak your animation to the Spy.

Ok we're gettin closer to some reasonable ending. I do not wish to be in team since it would make me do some stuff that I probably didn't wish for. Also I do not wish to make team make another animation since you have already a lot of animations to do.

So if I make an animation that will flip my spy 5000 meters up the sky, and someone else makes an animation just a jump with a flip, how will that work?

Dread you keep putting examples that are ridiculous and as I said it could be up to devs to accept it in next patch of the game. All the other amateur stuff is at your own risk.

So as far as I see it, if the Animations are amateur quality, they don't get accepted, if they are Junior/Professional like, you apply get into the team, they get accepted?

frvge

Not necessarily. We'll see if it meets the quality requirements. And even then, that doesn't mean anything. We've had plenty of anims that we used, but then others came to replace them.
