The U.S. would've never been able to do this without their help. As soon as you had all the information needed you took over and killed that nugget. But the Pakistani military played a huge part in this.

NeoSuperior

lol... seems no one gets that he worked for the CIA once before becoming the terrorist leader. (At least he was provided by them)

I have heard nothing that says the pakistani military helped with this mission or provided any intelligence about his whereabouts whatsoever.  IN FACT, all I have heard is that the former ruler of the pakistani military is glad we killed him, but it is a violation by the US for going in without informing the Pakistani govt first.  So obviously they did nothing to help with his capture, and it was a football field away from one of their biggest military posts.  No credit goes to his Pakistan for his capture, and eyebrows should be raised about the role they may have played in hiding him.

Of course I get that.  I said it in my 1st or 2nd post.  Probably 2nd one.  It doesn't change the fact that he killed thousands of innocent men/women/children from all around the world on my country's soil.

The pakistani would probably screw over the mission seeing abbottabad would be full of spies. Including militants and ex-militants. So really they should just suck it up.

The thing that irks me the most is why they threw his body into the ocean. If that is true anyway. A muslim needs to be buried/sea men's graved an XX hours after his death. Obama said Bin Laden was not a muslim so why did they give him a muslimic burial?

Farley4Fan

Yeah, I would never tell Pakistan.  Especially when it became so obvious that they may have hid him themselves (even if it was a select few in the pakistani govt/military).  It could compromise the whole mission.

Recent articles say that they have trained for this mission for months.  They built a replica to practice the raid in February iirc...

The fact that they would do this so bluntly but without Pakistan knowing tells me that this really was Osama.  The fact they would strain relations that are already so delicate tell me that this was a high value target, and not an elaborate facade to trick the American people/the world into thinking we got him.  If they wanted to fake it, they would have just said they found him in a cave in Afghanistan.  But to do it like this, with so much preparation and secrecy (secret to both Pakistan and the American people), it has to be true.

theDuke

Your relationship with Pakistan isn't the best from begin with. They're obviously not happy about the fact you ran this mission without telling themâ€"even if that was crucial to the success of the killing. However, that's not going to strain the relationship even more. They U.S. knew he was in there for a long time.
Even Obama gave them credit last night, "it is important to note that our counter-terrorism cooperation with Pakistan helped lead us to to Bin Laden, and the compound where he was hiding."

That sounds more like band-aid talk to me.

And what's your army doing in their land? Didn't you hear once about rape or something different by US Army?
These wars are made for one important thing called Black Gold, without this shit America cannot exist, well any land cannot exist.
I would be not suprised if your govenement had their 0.02$ in that terrorist attacks or sth and if he knew for long time where Osama Ben Laden is.

Well, both sides are not without guilt.

Pakistan might be dodgy, but it would have been impossible to trace him down without their help.

This is just naive.  100 yards away from their military academy, they had "no idea" where he was, and they helped us find him?  Now they are mad we went on their soil?  lol, there's absolutely no way they had any hand in his capture.  Obama praising Pakistan for their "cooperation" is nothing more than a quick shout out so their govt doesnt get totally pissed.  It's like an award acceptance speech "I'd like to thank my friends and family..." "...and before I forget anyone else I'd like to thank Pakistan JUST BECAUSE LOLZ"

Dude, you have no idea.  These aren't vikings we are sending to Iraq.  1 or 2 reported cases of rape and all of a sudden our troops are rapists and pillagers?  We don't tolerate that shit in our military.  We are spending billions to help Iraq rebuild.  We hold meetings with the leaders of their communities every single day and listen to their concerns.  Innocent people die in every war, and most of the innocents killed in this war have been by our enemy.  At least when we strike and accidentally hit innocents we weren't aiming for innocents.  Zglina, most other wars make this one look extremely tame - and this will be one of the longer wars when all is said and done.

It's no mystery that the middle east is an important part of the world.  However, we were provoked.  9/11 was not an inside job, no matter what the lunatic conspiracy theorists out there WANT to believe.  You know how it is.  When you WANT to see it, you see it.  Either you make shit up to support your claims or you loosely form it around some separate pieces of info that shouldn't be connected.

And now the man responsible (if you could place blame on 1 singular person for this event) has been killed.  It is a decisively positive day for the US and the world.  You know we don't have many of those.

"We are spending billions to help Iraq rebuild." hmmm help other countries.....like Egypt or Somalia.
USA is spending bilions to help iraq because they will earn 10x more on oil from iraq....simple

This is just naive.
Naive..
Naive is thinking you did all by yourself. Plus, cooperation could also mean just tolerating what you are doing on their soil. Even if he's number 1 on YOUR listâ€"it still doesn't give you the right to just fly in there, kill a bunch of people and get back out of there without any trouble. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad he's dead but you're lucky they didn't shoot down your helicopters. But then a brief "thank you" on their cooperation would have been enough in Obama's speech. Pakistan didn't make it easy for you, but they helped you eventually.

Since the Tillman case I don't buy any of the patriotic bullshitting stories anyways.
This is why you fear WikiLeaks so much.

LoChang

Give up, Farley.

Everyone just be glad he's dead, okay?

PS - Coincidence that Hitler and Bin Laden were both declared dead on the first of May?

Bind Laden, master of hide and seek, 2001-2011 not bad huh ?
