New Coop Moves

In CT there are places that could easily be reached by a coop move but there is no place to do it.  Either make it a free thing ( where you do it wherever you want ), or make every possible place to be boosted have a designated spot to go up.

Gawain

don't fix what is not broken. spamming coop possibilities kinda everywhere is a bad idea (staying together already gives too much advantages).

I don't think that there are enough spots that are useful to use coop in CT, don't get me wrong there are a bunch, but not enough to where it would be a vital part of every game.

Gawain

it shouldn't be a vital part. but i bet you love maps like aqua...

Cooperation is a vital part.  I think physically interacting with your partner to achieve things you wouldn't be able to alone is very important.  This is why it is 2v2, it requires cooperation.  Why not extend that cooperation aspect ot it's fullest?

For the first time ever, I agree with you on something. Granted it is an obvious quote, he is right. I think the coop should be open or have different options to it. 3 different options you can do as coop anywhere on a map. That would be pretty crazy. It would be tough for a team to do. Maybe set a key for each option of coop to do? That would be so sick.

What I suggested is when one spy is in the position to boost a spy ( or any other coop move ) he should be able to move slowly to adjust where the coop move is going to lead to.  This way it gives more freedom, it won't make the map designers put coop points on maps, and it could lead to some pretty intense situations.

One spy boosts another spy into the air, a merc charges the spy who just gave the other spy a boost, the spy falls back down because he has no where to grab and he lands on the merc, saving his partner.

Just cool, crazy, interesting stuff like that would be nice to see.  And I think giving spies the ability to perform more coop moves anywhere would achieve that somewhat.

No, this wouldn't do this at all.  Not only would that be a silly and far-fetched tactic, it would be lame too.  Here are the main reasons why "Coop anywhere" doesn't work;

1.  "Missing" coop jumps or coop actions due to a misaligned coop spot.  For example, you crouch down to give your partner a boost but crouched too far away vertically/horizontally from the spot and miss your chance.  This would be annoying and not needed.
2.  As CT is now, if a spot CAN be cooped, it usually allows it (maybe not all, but our map designers can easily fix that).  Take Zedblade's maps for instance - he put a TON of coop spots in.  Any place you could do it, he did it.
3.  Wouldn't the chance of "glitched spots" or "unrealistic spots" be higher?  For example, sitting on top of the elevator in clubhouse.
4.  Not noob-friendly.  This is last because it isn't incredibly important but still an issue.  It's helpful to have determined spots of where you can coop.  Having a little icon at the bottom left/right telling me I can do a coop is nice.

I'm all about increasing cooperation between two spies, but I don't find cooping everywhere(literally) a welcoming addition.

Gawain

if you want to increase cooperation in a healthy way, you should be able to see your partner's location in a minimap + small copy of what is on his screen (or like a sticky cam on his head). this would help people without mic and with mic by keeping communication clean.

How about it lets you do it everywhere, but it detects where you want to do it, so it helps you align the coop spot?  CT already does this in the designated areas.  If you do the coop button, say 4-5 ft away from the actual spot, it moves your body to that exact point where you can actually do it.   Imagine this, but you can do it everywhere.  If you push the coop button it would move you where it is possible, if there is no point close to the point where you pushed the coop button, it would just set you up right where you pushed it but you don't grab anything.  See what I mean?  Kind of hard to explain.

The problem, imo, with CT's coops is that they are few in numbers, a lot of them are guarded by mercs.  Example: Club House- The boost coop in the red room leading to the tea room and the lunch room.  A lot of merc's would go guard that coop to prevent the spies from reaching the back of the objectives.

Are we going to increase the number of ventilation shafts in this game?  Or passageways?

So um... wtf is it good for? Why have the option of jumping up and grabbing nothing?

Farley4Fan

Because if you miss the general area of the coop then you don't get to achieve the coop.  The option of jumping up and grabbing nothing is sort of a penalty for missing the coop spot.  Plus if you wanted to neutralize a merc - a merc charges the booster, the boosted spy comes down and lands on the mercs head knocking him out, the boosted spy revives the booster spy.  The effect is that the merc is neutralized and both spies are on their way.  But if the merc's start to realize to not charge a cooping spy, this might be useless.  On second thought this might not be that good after all.

How about grabbing not only ledges in a boost coop move, but grabbing horizontal poles as well?

frvge

That's already possible I think, only it was never used. I'll need a verify with a mapper.

I think that it was possible on Coop mode, but not versus mode.  Even if it was possible, it obviously wasn't useful because, well it was never used lol.  Just make it more useful  ;D
