i think what he meant was the better the resoloution the more power i takes, i don't believe this is true though. I believe that a specific monitor would use the same power no matter what the resolution because all the pixels are still being used.

this is actually a huge topic to discuss for the ingame resolution as the fov / viewing angle is a huge balance factor in a stealth game. i'd suggest going for 16:10 for everyone (black arbors for any1 with another screen) because it comes the clostest to the human fov and different fovs would be bad for balance reasons.
That would be good, if i didnt have a 13" screen. Imagine playing on that WITH cut view.
So i say F*ck this idea (every opinion is subjective/ no insult intended).

thats why he said "black arbors" which i think he meant black bars for ppl that dont have that ratio.
on a side note i think minor stretching would be preferred by 16:9 ppl instead of black bars.

seefoo.

Actually, the only reason I use 1280x1024 is that I can't find a game that supports 1280x2048...

wtf no. I really don't want PAL-balks on my screen. And if there's any resolution to begin with, it has to be 1024x768. That is still the most used one IIRC.

It is really not going to make the much difference. I mean, every other game, even battlefield (through mod, although allowed by EA) lets you have a wider resolution.

But in Battlefield the game won't be determined by whether or not you can see your opponent.

Windows = 1024x768, 85hz
Some Games = 1280x1024

Agreed.

afaik it's impossible in bf2 and bf2142 mp to get a wider horizontal viewing angle.

Sorry, I forgot you can shoot people you can't see.

There is a fix on the internet, that EA has given the OK to.
